I know that most us companies don't translate stuff, don't make the games, don't even print the booklets. What do they do?

They spent most of their time fighting with SNK of Japan.

Actually, they were a distributed for the North American market.

Because of huge cultural gaps and very different financial standpoints, SNK USA and SNK Japan never got along quite well. SNK Japan did the main job and, eventually, died, while SNK USA just pumped the very little money there was to be pumped before flushing everything out.

All in all, SNK USA was a big bad joke, with lots of money spent in vain.
