Sound off so I have an idea how many to expect

UPDATE:
Sunday, June 22 starting at 1:00pm ending sometime around 9 or 10.

Orignal message below
=======================
This idea has been tossed around for ages and fallen flat on more occasions.

Now that I'm back in Southern California for a few months, I'd like to plan one, for real, hopefully on a Saturday afternoon/early evening in the Month of June (probably late June).

The MN crew put together a marvelous gathering last November (there are pictures in the photo album), and I'd like to do one for our area.

We need to hammer out a few details:

- Location:
- Exact Date/Time

My downtown LA apartment can work in the interim, but it's small, has limited parking and all I have is an MVS system there (I moved all my other video game systems into storage). If you have a place you'd like to host from, please feel free. (Some apartment complexes have "party rooms" that are great for this sort of thing)

We can all pitch in by bringing favorite games, food, drinks, and possibly extra TVs and systems.

I've met up with a few of the LA folks (sadly, Nruva has moved to Virginia), but I'd like for anyone who's interested to attend.

I'm "featuring" this topic because it is going to happen, all that need to be hammered out is who's definitely going.

I say Amen(!), in seeing that there's still interest in it happening. And I'm sure that more members here concur.

Location in LA is going to be tough. I'd offer up my space, but the problem lies in the fact that a family of four calls it home, and it's rather cramped. Neo gaming-wise, I've got an AES, one controller, and Samurai Shodown 1 and 2. Meagar, but it's all you really need

As far as time goes, best time would be druing the week of June 16-21 (Father's Day not included), as that's the free week I'll have between finals and summer school. Would this work for you all too?

Well, a 10 page paper beckons on Senate Bill 1948. Damned Congress class.

yeah the week between finals and summer school is good, but for me it'd have to be after the 17th because that's my graduation. I don't have much game systems but what I have I'd bring:ng pocket, nomad, snes, wonderswan color, saturns, ps2, and dc. I also have a few arcade pcbs I could bring. I'd love to play some real neo games since I don't have one yet :(. does anyone in the are own twinkle star sprites, ninja masters, or another neo game that you wouldn't find at most any arcade? I love the neo, but I just haven't gotten the money around to make a supergun. or buy a cab. I have played lb2, ss2, ss3,ss4, shock troopers, motw, and alot of other good games.

I'd love to go to an LA meet up, but I have no means of transportation to get myself there and back.

congress class thats a very strange contradiction lol
Damn straight.

Never have I been subjected to a more horribly boring subject than having to sit through said class. This other Supreme Court class? No prob. Introductory Arabic? Hell yes- all too fun. But Congress? T'is a fate I wouldn't wish upon anyone.

Seriously. The "professor" comes in with the same cardboard mentality day in and day out and rehashes the same style of lecturing like Capcom does the Sakura sprite. Thank the lord up on high that it's only 50 minutes, or God forbid I might find a better use of my time. Like amature dental work.

Regardless, there's less than a week of class left. And then, it's a FULL WEEK OF SLOTH BEFORE SUMMER SCHOOL! Complete with a Neo gathering, I hope... buttrock

I'll come if you guys agree to play some serious Ninja Master's on my AES- and you're somewhat less than reverential review dosen't encourage me too much Bobak :)

Really though, my place is small and comes with a cranky girlfriend who doesn't tolerate long -term video game hogging of the TV.

I don't mind my place so long as someone brings a home system (I do have a MVS ready to go, and I have a lot of good games on it). I do have Matrimelee and MS4 ready to go too (the rest of my collection and home systems are spread over the rest of the US right now). If more than one person wants to bring a home system, I have two TVs (one Wega and one small 13-inch dinky TV) but I recommend bringing another if you can. -we did that kind of set up at the last Minnesota get together and it worked well.

How is Saturday, June 21? We can start at around 4 or 5 or so and people can come and go as they like. We can order Pizza, or some other kind of delivery and bring snacks and soft drinks and what-not.

My place is right smack-dab in downtown LA, a block from the new Disney Hall and Cathedral -so it should be central.

Chime in if you're interested. Where are the OC people? It won't be too bad of a drive on Satuday -and certainly no farther than the folks from Redlands.

Bobak, that's good by me. I can bring the AES if need be too. However, I've only got one controller with it- that would mean somebody has gotta come through with the second one... now who could that be...?

And any cats on the costal area surrounding Santa Monica, I'm hoping that my flat tire will be rectified by then. If so, rides might be able to be furnished.

Now lets get this ball rolling!

A train but it stops running back to my city at 5 or 6. I have a car, but it's a piece of crap and it can't run on the freeway.

Okay, I post the 21st, then find out a few hours later that there's something I need to go to on the 21st...

Will Sunday, June 22nd work?

Same time, same place, etc?

I hope everyone can still make it.

neobuyer you think I could come along? I don't have a car yet and I don't think I can take the bus. Plus no one ever takes me anywhere. I'd bring my mvs carts and some snacks, mainstream games, and a street fighter alpha 2 board

So we can make sure what games are going to be there, I thought I'd go ahead and start by listing the MVS games I have (as well as the two home carts I have readily available); that way people won't bring a double if they have others they'd rather bring.

Since my MVS is Japanese, if people want to see English gameplay, bring a US system and the home game for that system (or a convertor for my MVS games)
