So, I've been searching for cab for a while. I wanted a basic 1 slot that would be fairly inexpensive. I found one over at namco arcade. It was listed as KOF '94. So when I go to check it out, it's a 25' conversion cab with a KOF '00 large marquee up top. But, as expected, the game running is KOF '94. I figure they sold off the more expensive '00 cart and replaced it with an old cart they had hanging around. Anyways, I bought the cab and brought it home. I set it up and I'm playing for a while. I then decide to take a look inside to see which mvs board is in there and to adjust the volume. Being my first arcade machine, I then look down at the coin mechs when, low and behold, there's a big blue cart sitting all the way in the back at the bottom of the cab. I stretch my arm all they way in and grab it. It's KOF '00! I pull it out, clean it up, and pop it in. Works on the first try! Sweet. I just wanted to share this story and link and see if anyone else has found special surprises in their cabs. Thanks.

Good find, thats a $65 cart... nice little bonus huh? I've found a few full art packs and marquees in my cabs, never a game, but some good trinkets none the less.

Nice find! It's always great to get a game for free. I found an Art of Fighting 2 MVS cartridge when I opened up my Jap. 19" Neo cab for the first time. I had no idea what game it was either since the label was in Japanese. The number 2 in the title helped me narrow down the possibilities rather quickly though. I didn't get a mother board for the cab until about a week later.

My friend Matt bought an origonaly Street Fighter II world warriors cab. When he got it back to his place and opened it up there was also a Street Fighter II Turbo PCB just sitting inside.

I just opened the back of my cab after reading all of these posts since I had never seen lower than where the 4-slot lays, and found... a lousy second mini marquee key and a bunch of cobbwebs. Oh well, saved me $1.25 by not having to make a spare. angry

heh, you'd think with all my cabs I'd have one of these stories, but all I find are hacked wireing jobs and the occasional manual.

Oh, well...maybe I've just been lucky enough already.

I said it before but what the hell.

When I got my 2 Slot Neo Geo board my friend took the cab it was in for 50 dollars.

Turns out the cab used to be Double Dragon. The person that converted it flipped the dragons around the screen so it was all black, when we opened the back I saw the dragons and the how to play.

So my firend and I fliped it back, cleaned it off and now it's almost a Double Dragon again. Just need another PCB Board and a new headder.

Nice find. I found a few full MVS art packs at the bottom of my cab, a little dusty but as good as new.
