I am getting a Neo Geo CD system with about 18 games in a few weeks. I'm just wondering how can I tell if the games are legit or not. Thanks in advance! help

It's pretty easy: if the game cd is factory made and has some artwork and says (c) SNK then it is legit, if it's just a CD-R with the name of the game wrote with a pen then it's a bootleg.

Click on my homepage link above this post and take a look into the NGCD faq you find there, there are a few tips about how to recognize Neo CD boots.

In some cases, it can be a lil' more complicated than just looking at the data side of the CD because a number of bootleggers use CD pressing machines for their warez and quality printers for the inserts. The most obvious difference would be the missing manual, tho. So far, I have never seen a fake manual in a NGCD boot.

I think all offical snk cd games have their NGH number imprinted into the cd on the inner part of the cd if you look at the cd in bright light.
