I just noticed that Metal Slug has a PS1 re-release coming in just over a week. I'm probably going to pick up the MVS eventually anyway, but I'm curious as to how it plays on PS1. Anybody have the original release? What's the scoop?

Rocks. Play it and X on my PSone combo quite a bit. Looks great on the LCD, but it wasn't so hot on my TV.

Loading times aren't bad. Just don't bother if it's the "white blood" version.

The original metal slug port for ps1 is not exactly great. The version i tried would pause in the middle of levels to load. Metal Slug X for ps1 was coded in a better way and it didn't stop in the middle of levels for loading other bits and stuff.

I think they both have art galleries.

That's all i can remember for now.

METAL SLUG for PSX/PSone/Playstation sucks donkey balls. It has horrible mid-level load times, and doesn't have the movement of the import SATURN version with the 5MB Ram Cart. I only own the PSone version right now because I no longer own a Saturn, but I have to support Playmore/SNKNEOGEOUSA through "Ports" now, be it in the past like on the Mega Drive, or the future stuff on the Next Gen consoles even though I don't own any of them. You're best be would be to just buy a SATURN on the cheap and get the Import SATURN version. But that's just me.
