which is the best slug sequal ?

I only ask this as I have only ever owned the first one and I am thinking of getting another one but as they are all a bit of cash
What one out of the sequals has the best replay value, the best game play, the best backgrounds and the most assortment of weapons.

They are all super good, 2 has cronic slowdown problems in some stages, X is probably the one to get, Ive ordered MS#3 cant wait to slot it in.

If 3 wasn't so hard, I would say 3 for sure. X is very good, however. Hmmm.... X or 3, whichever you can find. I say 3, now that I think about it, since it's more complete. What I mean by that is, X was more or less MS2 special. They messed up the story when doing this, however, by putting the aliens in the game before they made sense to the story. I mean, you're fighting aliens way before you should unlike MS2. If it wasn't for 2's slowdown, I would say 2 is better than X, in fact.

I haven't really been able to play 1,2 or X (please SELL them to me *grin*) but I have to say 3 is awesome.

Granted it is quite difficult but who wants an easy game you can clear in one hour? There are so many different paths which makes reply value very high. I think the snow yetis are extremely cool and the underwater levels are gorgeous!! Plus, as I understand it, you get all the slug vehicles from the first games plus more. Nice array of weapons and very detailed enemies ranging from foot soldiers to man eating plants. At $265 (sometimes lower) how can you lose?

I hope Slug 4 will be even better! <img src="graemlins/drool2.gif" border="0" alt="[Drool 2]" />

1st : to short
2nd : slodown
3rd : not enought soldier and to many Aliens

3 has most weapons, most vehicles, most different enemies, most playtime, a vertical shooter sequence,...................

And people still prefer X?!

save your money. Metal Slug 1 is the best of the series.

I agree with BBH on the whole "3 is overrated part", but I like X alot, it's up there with the original.

Lee I have to suggest Slug 3 myself!! Slug 2 and X are fine games but 3 well 3 is just 2D excellence and the multiple paths and vehicles really made this a Slug for the ages!! just buy a Slug if you cant decide though, really cant go wrong with any of them

MS3
A dozen vehicles, 1 1/2 dozen weapons, longest gameplay since the 5th (last) mission has the length of for mission, many jokes.

But the best joke you only find in MS1:

Check out Mission 5 the destroyed inn were soldiers come from all directions. Make sure you get the Slug before! Now a soldier will jumps on your Slug and FUCK the cannon (no shit) while another is dismounting the slug´s gatling gun with a hammer, finally they throw dynamite into the slug!

So I vote MS 1 for 2nd place!

I said it before and I will say it again: metal slug 2is the definitive slug sequal for the tried and true slug fanatics. it is my opinion that slug 1&2 are by far the best with X being A shody rehash and 3 being (as fran would say) A fucking circus.
