I've played the games (Fatal 1,2,3- they ROCK by the way!), I've heard of the animated films about Fatal Fury... Why not take Fatal Fury into "Live-Action" motion picture, a good story-line with a good cast and crew to make it possible (Box-Office Hit material).

Live action movies based on fighting games are BAD news. Their fighting games with sprite based characters! Why the hell would you want to have real people play them? They'll never be good enough, or even cool looking in my book.

It would probably turn out worse than the SF movie. They did pull off the first Mortal Kombat movie, but that was an exception, and MK has a much better story line than Fatal Fury or even Street Fighter (which has no storyline).

Besides, you will never see any live action Fatal Fury movie, because outside of Japan and asia the game has no mass following or popularity anymore.

Personally, I would suggest the following changes:

Big Bear: Vader (if you've ever seen those episodes of Boy Meets World with Vader guest-starring, you'll know what I mean. Plus, the guy's 400+ and he's still doing moonsaults. He pretty much is a fighting game character.)

Billy Kane: Ray Park (British? Check. Acrobatic? Check. Experience fighting using a long pole as a weapon? Checkmate. G'bye Bob!)

Kim Kaphwan: Jason Scott Lee? (He played "The Dragon"--no, not Don Wilson--in The Bruce Lee Story)

Geese: Christopher Walken (Or, if AOF2-era, Greg Valentine)

Axel Hawk: Butter Bean

If it's expanded KOF universe stuff:

Robert Garcia: Steven Seagal.

Chang: Okay, he could be John Tenta :D Or Fred "Shockmaster" Ottman ;)

Choi: Verne Troyer?

Ralf: Kevin Smith

Clark: Jason Mewes

Actually, The commercials in Japan for the Neo Home Cart of Fatal Fury Special were live action, which featured Terry, Andy, Joe, and yes even Mai, fighting it out with Geese. They can be found on the internet...forget where though, they are amazing.>>>

Wasn't there something similar with AOF?
I remember a strange trailer with scenes from the anime interspersed with some live-action shots.... <img src="graemlins/spock.gif" border="0" alt="[Spock]" />

I agree with the fact that MK and all those like sucked, reason being that they were too much like Power-Ranger skits. The live action I was talking about was something with a more realist feel to it: Storyline and the Characters appearances and rolls in the story. I don't about you but maybe have a look at this for an idea...

Some of you are talking Cast for Characters... How's this?

Chief Inspector Daniel Bogard- Chuck Norris
Inspector Rick Meyer- Jim Carey
Geese Howard- Dolph Lundgren
Terry Bogard- Brad Pitt
Andy Bogard- Heath Ledger
Joe Higashi- Mark Dacascos
Mai Shironui- Ziyi Zhang
Mary “Blue Mary” Harding- Sarah Michelle Gellar
Inspector Hon Fu- Jet Li
Detective Robert Wilson-Freddie Prinze Jr.
Ryuji Yamazaki- Ben Affleck
Billy Kane- Vin Diesel
Drake “Duck” King- Matthew Lillard

Background behind Fatal Fury:
In 1997 Hong Kong’s British reign end after the handover to the Chinese Government… Five years into the new era, Hong Kong Island was taken over by the Syndicate. Hong Kong’s government was left powerless to stand up the syndicate as they overthrown by the threat of death. From there on Hong Kong was ruled by fear and brute force.

The Summary:
When Hong Kong cop Daniel Bogard gets too close to uncovering the secrets of the syndicate, his career is suddenly ended after he is killed in bomb attack. Six months on and Terry Bogard is left to look after his younger brother and run the tavern, after bowing to the tyranny of the Syndicate he finally draws the line in standing up to them. Bogard hooks up with old-time friend Joe Higashi and allies with biker Mary Harding in order to deliver an insurrection against the Syndicate lead by multi-billionaire gangster Geese Howard. In the end Terry, Andy and Joe are left fight it out for the sake of their friends and comrades. Terry finally gets his chance to avenge his father.

In whatever way Fatal Fury is brought to the big screen, personally I think this would be good coming from Joel Silver... Then again maybe other hardcore Hollywood producer.
