I'd buy a cabinet, depending on your area. If you're in a major US center (I'm not... I live in a small Canadian town and have still found sweet deals on arcade hardware) you should have no trouble scoring the cabinet of your dreams
The only GOOD reason not to get a cab if you're into MVS is the space it takes up
Get yourself a candy cab, and go the full experience.
RGB monitor kills every other medium. Its how MVS carts were meant to be played.
Hell, Megalo and Sauroid's are good to..
I saw my first candy cab in the weirdest place. It's an old bowling alley in North Carolina... and I mean old. The weights of the bowling balls there are "small", "medium", and "large". The machine was torn to crap, and was missing the 2nd player's joystick and buttons.
I noticed under the joystick console, though, there was a memory card slot, and a headphone jack. Do all candy cabs have this?

I say supergun man. Cabinets are expensive and big. With a decently done supergun, you can take the thing with you where ever you go.
If you have decent soldering skills you can just build your joysticks (it's really easy, just tedious) and wire up a powersupply and build the RGB converter. Now the last part is the tough one, and if you don't have any idea on how, just go to www.jrok.com and order one he made. It works with the MVS boards and only costs $80. Anyway, it's my way to play
