Do you have dreams of new games? No sequels, but innovations!

Gee, people around here are only talking about sequels, sequels, sequels!

Sam Sho 5 here, MS4 there, LB 3 anywhere..........

Wouldn´t it be cool if they release a new idea on the Neo! Remember LB 1 came in 1997 (MVS) So it was something new, but not anymore!

The Neo world needs innovation, too IMO!

My dream is a Fighter with Barbarians. In the atmosphere it should be "comparable" to Weapon Lord with Good Looking Backgrounds in "Conan-style" with huge warriors and mean shamans wielding broadswords, axes, hammers, staffs, etc.

And with big Specials and Supers, Combos (huge Strings with many possibilities and special integration preferred

)

And not only blood and crossed weapons sparking, but combo fatalities like in Weaponlord (tear guts out, then decapitate, then crush enemý´s body, yeah! Oh, I loved weaponlord for that)

So that is my dream!

What about yours?

We`ve got 2002. And we should feel lucky for ANY game we still get. If there will be some, it`s only going to be sequels. The time for innovation has gone long ago. The few companys still interested in the Neo don`t have the knowledge/time/manpower/money/interest to develop a complete GOOD game from scratch, only SNK could do that. All they strive for is quick money with not too much effort put into it à la KoF 2001 and
Metal Slug 4. Nothing bad with that for me though. Sorry to burst your bubble but a weapon lord type of game is not going to happen.

Awww... darn.

We've seen a few really original games released in the past few years - MotW was one of them. SS WR2 was another. Both these two examples had only one returning character from the old series, although that character was really different from past incarnations.

Considering SNK is rising from ashes right now, I guess this is all you can expect.

some with weapons and some characters whitout.
they should have different styles(snake,tiger,gibbon

and the boss looks like the nazi/flying giutine gramps from

first of all

MAGICIAN LORD 2.....

its one of the first games.....
just imagine a sequel

500+ megs

even more insane bgs and bosses........
and music....

same goes with top hunter 2

( wtf,398928 sequels for slug and top hunter??
it DOES deserve a sequel)

then fatal fury special 2

a real sequel with ALLLL the fighters from the FF saga redone with aof3 like animations

then id like to see sequels to last resort and viewpoint......

and NAM 1976

The shaolin idea sounds pretty cool, imagine a bunch of badass monks like Lee Rekka all with differet styles. I suppose that would be kinda cool.

Wow fran, I thought you of all people would be happy/hopeful about a new KOF that is more towards the 98 vein. I wish we could get some new games, MOTW was almost a new game in it's own right (yes technically it's a FF sequel, but it's a different type of game).

I'm not the biggest Metal Slug fan, but you have to make the games that will make you the most money. We can only hope that these turn out good.

I am a big fan of sequals and would love to see a proper fatal fury sequal from 1 to 3, not the real bouts though as i am not keen on them
if i wanted to see a brand new game though
I would love a really nice long platform game like disney use to do for the megadrive as they were fun, one with 3 different ways of getting to the end like with shock troopers so it dont get boring straight away,

Hey Fran,

every time I play Top Hunter I could cry. Why? the graphics and style of the game are so nice and beautiful but the gameplay is sooooooo boring. The game is missing this little something special that makes for an addictive title and lots of SNK games got. Dunno what it could`ve been - maybe some weapons (O.K. then we get Slug, so forget about that), easier to pull off specials, combo attacks ... anyhow - there would be a LOT to do for a sequel.

I would love to see a game comparable to Wizards and Warriors, or Castlevania on the Neo. Of course, it would need that SNK touch though.

Hey, back in 1995 Top Hunter was the shit. I knwo that now the game is a bit too dated to be fully appreciated by us spoiled gamers, but considering the scope of 1995 games it was very good. If they really wanted to improve the game they should have replanned the levels to included secret areas and a shit load more difficulty (more enemies, things to shoot) - it might be better, but you only have so much to work with.

). I like the Capcom vs. series, but it's a completely different game w/ different strategies. They need to keep it out of KOF! KOF is pure, a serious fighting game, the only thing that comes close is the SFA series. Anyway...

At least they turned the strikers way down in 2k1, I just wish I could play it

. I'm hoping it's good, the only bad thing I can think of is how dumb Terry looks in the character select screen. Let's hope they didn't screw anyone else up.

BTW, anyone know if we're getting 2k2? It would be kick ass, especially if it were on the crystal system/PS2 and went back to a straight fighting game style like KOF98. Hell Fran, I know you really like the Neo, but could you imagine, a SNK made version of KOF that was pure like 98, that had updated 2D graphics.....
