Did Metal Slug X US AES have an orange stripe on the spine? And if so, why?

The reason I'm asking is that I have MS3 and it has a blue stripe at the top of the spine. I thought the blue stripe signified action. But the Metal Slug X I got has an orange stripe at the top of the spine. Is that how it is? And if so, why the color difference?

NO!

It was Red, just like the recent MS4 release (unfortunately).

The Orange version is counterfiet, fake, whatever you want to call it.

No US released games have orange stripes.

The orange stripe is an homebrew fake shitty insert made by the nastiest two guys of the Neo Geo world : Dion Dakis and Chris Ray.

Every game you see with an orange insert is totally freaked by them. Forget it.

Basically SNK USA couldn't be bothered with 'colour coding' the carts anymore and so after a while all US releases were just given the red stripe regardless of what genre the game fitted into.

I think it was green for sports, blue for action and red for fighting... until they just stuck with red.

The orange stripe is just bullshit from NGF. No offical SNK produced insert carries an orange stripe. If your MSX has an orange stripe then the insert is fake.

From what I remember Dion wanted to buy the entire US run of MSX from SNK USA so he could call it an exclusive NGF release with orange stripe inserts.
Wisely, SNK USA told him to fuck off.

To try and bolster the orange stripe plan, Chris posted an email to Dion saying he had found an orange stripe MSX in London. This was all bs as all 'Euro' releases followed the same packaging as the US releases after the 'Dog-Tag' logo was dropped in the early '90's.

So, basically - NO. No AES carts should have orange stripes.

I already saw a pic with the vertical orange stripes cart sticker, and also others with the traditional red stripes.

The inserts are always "retouched", not the stickers. <img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" />
