I've wanted AOF2 for years. I remember seeing screens (and a review, I believe) in GamePro waaaaayyyy back and thinking "wow those character sprites are huge!". I wanted this game pretty badly, but at the time I didn't have that kind of money since I was just a kid.

Well, I finally got it. It seems like it would be an awesome fighting game if it were just toned done to normal difficulty levels. This game is insanely hard. On the easiest difficulty I cannot win even a single round against the first opponent!!! And since I don't have anyone I can play 2P VS with it kills a lot of the fun of it :( . AOF1 was pretty hard too (I've gotten to the last boss -obviously Takuma- but never beaten him :( ).

I guess they figured out that the AOF games were too hard and made AOF3 much easier. AOF3 is definitely more my speed. I love that game. It's certainly one of my favorite Neo titles. AOF2 could be too, if it were playable :( .

Focus on the taunting aspect of the game..by draining their energy to minimize the damage your opponent does...LOW kicking is also effective..

Yeah, it´s really hard. But blocking alot and low kicking as BIG BEAR mentioned will help you.

Just wait for them to attack, block it and start low kicking. Many characters will attack you and then stand next to you while recovering from the move, just kick them alot.

It is still very hard thought, i hate MAC on the second level. ;(

AoF2 is incredibly easy. There are lots of stuff you can do and patterns to follow to kick some serious ass. You ever do a standing fierce punch on Jack? He'll block, then follow in 90% of the time with a sliding punch. Block, and throw. Whenever somebody is JUST getting up from a throw, throw a projectile to hit them. They'll ALWAYS fall down and get dizzy.

Simple stuff like that is what makes this game fun. There's no jump kick, punch, fireball combo in this game. Poke your opponent to death, and when you see an opening, tear shit up. The only person you have to really worry about taunting is Mr Big, and Geese Howard. Although for some reason Geese's 'buzzsaw' seems to go normally even with no spirit

I've thought about writing a strat for this game with all the characters, patterns, and such. It's really not a hard game, you just have to learn how to play it.

That's a great idea SonGohan! I think we could all use a faq for this devil of a game.

Being cheap is the only way it seems, I was playing this back when I first got it on NGCD finding it hard as hell.. All I can say is Yuri was the character I found the game easiest with.

There should be an entire website dedicated to beating this game.

AOF2...the hardest fighter of all time.

I also find this hard to do! But then again it seems most of the older games are hard. I used to be able to fly through tekken but after playing 2 i couldnt touch any of the opponents! I also seem to be scraping by dead dance on the snes! Its rock solid! If there is a pattern to aof2 i would love to know it! :)

If you think the first opponent is hard to beat wait to fight against Geese. The game is not that hard, what’s more, it could be considered quite easy if you invest some time on it. Try to play with Ryo or Robert at the beginning, and note that absolutely all the opponents has a fighting pattern, this means a weak point.

CPU AI is way too high..............
If you try to drain their energy, you have about 1 second without defense then they'll run to you and give you either kick or punch ........

YES!!!LOL eternal champions is a fucking bitch of a game. Not to mention regualry the game is fairly hard but once you get to the last boss nigh impossible. I dont no a single person that has ever beaten this game. I always get to the last boss and everynow and then i bring him down to his 4th form but to no avial i can not win. Not to mention that you only get once chance to beat him.

I also recall both the TMNT tournment fighter games were fairly hard for the genisis and SNES. Though i only rented those games so perhaps thats why i could never beat them.

Well, I tried what you guys said about the low kicking and taunting and boy were you guys right! I won one round and almost won the second!!! Is it considered a win if I throw the game out of the second floor window???

I've gotten halfway through it; maybe slightly furhter than halfway. I've beaten AOF 1 more than once. The ending is essentially the same with either character...

AoF2 isn´t a difficult game! Looks like you´ve to practise! Believe me, just practise and you´ll become much better...

btw, AoF2 is one of the most underated games on Neo! :D
