I've never seen this asked before, and have always been curious. What percentage of your fighting game time is dedicated to 2D & 3D? How much of each do you play as a percentage (obviously, 100 being the total)?

And following that answer, what is your all-time fav fighter that you enjoy to this day more than any other, 2D or 3D?

Me
2D-%90
3D-%10

This probably isn't the best sampling method for this sort of poll :) . It's like going to an anime convention and asking who likes Japanese cartoon :) .

Anyway, I'm all for 2D, except for the Hyper 64 games which are a lot of fun. VF4 is good too, but I just haven't gotten as into it as I'd like.

The only 3D fighters I've truly loved are Virtua Fighter 4, Soul Calibur, and Tekkken 3.

Besides those sterling examples, 2D fighters reign supreme.

beatemups:
2d 99%
3d 1% (near never)

I cant get into 3d beat em ups.
i mean for me some genres are predestinated
for either 3d or 2d.
racers are 3d
jump n runs are 2d
shoot em ups are 2d or 3d but flat.
gta and biohazard style games are 3d
rpgs are 2d (with expections)

and fighters are 2d!

thats how my videogaming world is.

The 3D is basically just for Soul Calibur, and once the sequel comes out for the home systems it will go up. And we will see how the new MK is, if its any good it will go up even more.

2D - 85%
3D - 15%

I enjoy/own a few 3D fighters, but when it comes to what I play, it's almost always 2D. I only play 3D when well my friends ask me to!

Peace

2D is far superior. I only like the VF series and Soul Calibur for 3D fighters.

And that's probably generous for 3D. It's not that I don't think they're good, I belive them to be great. 3D offers more realistic fighting as opposed to energy charged fantasy-fests that 2D excels in. But, I don't prefer realistic fighters.

The games that get the most play time are Street Fighter 2:SCE for Genesis and KOF '98 for Neo.

The only 3D fighter I've played to any reasonable extent in the last two years is Soul Calibur.

I was thinking about that today. The only game I liked in 3D was Soul Calibur. Nowadays I find that game too easy. You just have to press any button to win.

2D all the way. ;)

2D are easily my favorites. the only 3D fighters I truly enjoyed are Soul Calibur on Dreamcast, Virtua Fighter 2 on Sega Saturn, and DOA3 on XBOX.

Well, I've been playing Samurai Shodown 64 lately, so in general I'd have to say...

3D - 35%
2D - 65%

Easily play more 2D than 3D fighters. In fact, the only 3D fighters I currently own are Project Justice and Dead or Alive 2, both for the Dreamcast.

While I might enjoy a 3D brawler once in a great while, the percentage is only about:

2D - 97%
3D - 3%

To be perfectly honest, I really only like 3D games for a few select genres (driving, and the "survival horror" type are about the only ones); everything else I much prefer hand-drawn 2D artwork.

Oh, and as to your last question, my two favorite fighters of all time are Fatal Fury 2 and Real Bout 2.

Although... I have been spending a lot of time recently with Breaker's Revenge... ;)

I'm tired of the 15 year old low res 3frames 2d stuff.

But then I'm more into action games like Metal Slug and Shock Troopers so for the record it's like...

70% Action/Adventure
30% Fighting games period
