what about a neo geo-clone?
are there any projects out there?
does anybody knows anything about this topic?
i mean neogeos are becoming rare..
and why not starting such a thing?

There are no BOOTLEG systems out there.

Well there is a system that looks alot like a neo, and has games that are look-alike neo games. The IGS PGM.

Playmore should definitely release like a Neo 2 or something like that .... seems unlikely though.

A big problem I see though is the fact that a lot of those chips probably haven't been manufactured in awhile (just speculating here), since the technology is pretty old. This might make them special order items and drive up the cost of the hypothetical new Neo.

Anyway, those are just my thoughts. If someone else knows better reason(s) why Playmore couldn't do it, I'd love to hear them.

Or, they could reduce all those custom chips into one. Didn't they start doing this with the later MVS boards? Compare the latter released MVS boards with the monstrously huge MV-1 and the 2 slot, and you'll see some consolidation at work.

I think the making of a new Neo Geo system is highly unlikely, because they discontinued the system about 8 or 9 years ago.

Those SNK Playmore dudes should release a new system, instead of re-releasing a 13 years old one, don't you think so? shame In any case if look for a Neo and you don't give up too soon, you will always be able to find a system in good conditions! :cool: there's no need of more systems, there are lots of them out there!

Final rumors as it says: Matrimelee may be the last game on mvs title

I heard that somewhere but just don´t remember where.

Anyway, they should really get new hardware, something like mvs2. Since SVC:chaos using new transparent effects on a new hardware, this may be something new for us. They won´t change any new hardware, a lots of mvs cabinet goes around, while like naomi machines are few of them...so getting a naomi hardware into a neogeo system, this may be hard!

ejem... SVC Chaos will come out in mvs... as well as SS0. And none of them have transparency...

ehh? I already know that SVC and SSO will come you stubid spock And SVC chaos is using Transparency for dialogs for fighters quotes before the match begins! No, its not dithering shame
