Gameboy advance. All that new tech and the best release title they can come up with is some crappy nes release.

I know it's long dead, but atari lynx pissed over gba.

The review we have in the review section pans it. I've heard a few other disparaging words. Too bad.

-What's in the review section shouldn't even be called a "review." It sounds like the guy that wrote it played the game for about five minutes. He didn't even know that the game play is based on KOF 2000 or that K' is in the game (just beat the game ONCE and he, along with Maxima and Vanessa, are unlocked as hidden strikers). And if you look at the scores given, they really aren't too bad, yet he says the game sucks. Right. ^_^;

Honestly, the game isn't all that bad other than the horrible sound quality. It's good for a *portable* fighter; some people seem to have forgotten that the GBA is not the Neo Geo. Personally, though, I think that the game could have been a lot better if done by another company, especially seeing as how SSF2X and even Tekken turned out on the GBA.

And Lynx better than the GBA? Please. :b

In all fairness, the animation and collision detection were also beneath my expectations--for the command throws (Clark's SAB, Ralf's SAB, Chang's Bamm-Bamm attack ), you have to literally be touching the opponent already. In other KOF games, there was a bit of leeway/range. Also, the SDM's were nearly impossible to do, due to the awkward placement of the buttons. (that's more of a design flaw in the system, in all fairness, but I would have preferred an option to do it the old, pre-2000 way of desperation).

Also, the animation was rather ticky-tack. Some characters had decent stance animation, but Robert in particular seemed to have sub-GIF animation quality.

Yeah, it is a shame. If SNK had done it, it would have been miles better (just look at R-2 and MotM; hell, I'd have settled for a port of R-1 in full, rich color... write to the powers that be! Request that they port over the old NGP(C) KOF/SvC games in full, rich color! )

That's just my opinion, though. That said, SS!2 Advance would own. Anybody know of any HK carts of this?

If only the GBA's analog was as good as the NGPC, this game would be premo.
