I really heard nothing positive about this game overall. Yet it sold so well from most vendors in America, and Japan if I'm not mistaken. Was there any particular reasons for it? Or it just happened to be a fluke occurence?

I dunno, but i really liked it. Something refreshing for a change, a tag fighter that isn't Capcom Vs. Somebody Else. Great music too.

Something new, something different?

Not KoF again?
Yeah but even at the end of it, the general opinion is that it was rather shitty. I haven't seen a mass exodus to dump the game at all for how "sub-par" it was.

RotD definitely is not sub-par. I actually like it better than all of my 9 KoF`s together. There seem to be many that think alike. Oh yeah and it´s rare as well. :D

I kinda liked it at first. It was a refreshment
but after a while and seeing how many things
it borrows from KOF I hardly ever play it now.
oh_no oh_no oh_no oh_no

~No ORIGINALITY
~Good Tag system
~Combo system is broken to hell
~Cool boss (Cheap at first easy to beat later on)
~Characters are somewhat original, but again most
of them borrow too many things from other fighters.

Thank You,

Jorge

I think people bought it mostly because it had a lower production run than some of the newer carts, and since it is "rare", it might increase in value quickly. I wouldn't be surprised to see Matrimelee sell out quicker than RotD did.

Do you speak of the home cartridge which is now sold out? If so, this is somewhat of an illusion, a slight misperception, if you feel this title sold significantly better than the previous releases.

Let me put things in perspective for you. All the other home releases have sold just as well as RotD. The reason the NeoStore sold out on this title early is because only 300 new home carts were stocked. Put it this way, the NeoStore would be sold out of every new home release, including Sengoku 3, if only 300 pieces were stocked per title. That includes all titles released prior to this year: Metal Slug 3, Sengoku 3, KoF 2001, & Metal Slug 4

Or, do you speak of the RotD MVS kits which currently move well? This has to do with the fact that the price is now $69 for a new, year 2002 MVS kit that comes completely loaded with extras (two sets of everything, including English/Spanish mini marquees). When Sengoku 3 and Zupapa MVS kits hit the $65 retail price they too moved well, until they sold out. FYI, the NeoStore is expecting a shipment of 600 more RotD MVS kits, which is the final supply.

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks for the input Shawn.

I didn't take into consideration that less of the ROTD carts were ordered in comparison to the previous titles that you got.

I think I was a bit surprised with how fast they disappeared out of the Neo Store and it got me thinking about why it sold "well" when in fact it was the same as other releases in terms of how many sold.

Master Giby:
Are they going to produce more ROTD AES titles?
That is definitely a frequently asked question. I highly doubt they will backtrack for reproductions, too many grand new titles for them to focus on.

I actually love ROTD. It´s a great rush and a very fun game.

The combo system is a bit shallow thought so you wont learn new combos all the time, most will be learnt in a month or so.

I looks good, sounds amazing and plays well. One of myost played neo-games since even non-fighterfans seems to like it.

well I kinda liked it at the beginning. but later youlle find out that its a really shitty game. total bullshit. it is kinda fun to play but when you learn this game to the fullest (thats allready in 1 day) you see that youre game is really limited compared to other games. it had no replay value at all for me. the characters and mechanics play really basic. its deffenitelly not as challengong as SS, KOF or even the fatal fury saga. shit this couldnt even hold its own against AOF or WH. which I really consider weak. but thats just my opinion.

really hope matrimelee is better. cant wait for KOF03, SVC CHAOS, SS5 and Metal Slug 5. anybody actually know if MOTW 2 is coming, really hope it is.
