Samurais Spirits/ Ninja Scroll Similarities

I just watched Ninja Scroll again and noticed how many similarities there are in Sam. Spirits 2.
Are these characters based on a classic story like many in jpn games often are?

Heres some of the similarities-

Main character Ninja Scroll named Jubei

Ninja girl Kagero calls bird at one point to deliver message (Nakoruru has bird in Samurai games)

Rock Guy throws huge blade, Wan-Fu throws a huge stone pillar

Old guy Dakuwan in Ninja Scroll reminds me of Nicotine

Ninja Scroll has a blind swordsman, SS has Ukyo who is not blind but sick

Shadow guy has a large metal claw that reminds me of Gen-An

Freak with bees in back also reminds me of Gen-An

Gemma has a metal covered arm just like Sieger in SS2

Yes you are right my friend, though you know alot of these warriors are suppose to be ledgends, or ledgendary fighters like Jubei.

there is a very good reason why there are similarities... I mentioned it before...

Dont forget the backgrounds in Samurai 3 look like they were directly lifted from Ninja Scroll or Vice Versa.

Basara always makes me think of that villain in the shadows from Ninja Scroll, with his weapon and the way he teleports. And the old man looks/sounds almost identical in both.

Such great, memorable character designs. I guess that's why its no surprise you can find all the similarities between other titles in the same genre.

I've heard from many sources they used some of the same artists from Ninja Scroll to work on Samurai Spirits... right?
