I was not sure what area to post this in, but this seemed like a good choice.

What with the popularity of boxed sets, collections, etc., of various games, I have been pondering how I would design a box set for my favourite SNK game series, if I were to buy the rights of that series.

Limit your selection to three series.

My first choice would be Metal Slug. A box collection of any series would be cost-prohibitive if it were in cartridge format, so I would make it for a next-gen console like DreamCast. I would include all four Metal Slug games, each on their own disc, even though they could probably be compiled onto a couple. Their individual CD cases would be metal exterior, with faux riveting around the edge, and a raised logo stamped onto the metal. They would be packed inside a larger metal box with velvet lining, again with faux riveting on the exterior. I would have that one logo "The Metal Slug Project" on the outside, and a padlock. Another option would be to make the box look like a military footlocker. Extras included could be soundtracks, plus folders containing scripted mission briefings for the games. Possibly a mail-away coupon for a model Metal Slug tank.

Next on my list would be Samurai ShoDown. The box would be cast hydrastone, in the form of that stone that ruptures after you beat Amakusa the first time in the original Samurai ShoDown. The inscriptions would also be included. I would include not only Samurai ShoDown I though IV, but also the SS: RPG and the Hyper 64 games as well, all on their own DC disc, if plausible. Also included would be a scroll, detailing the plot line for the whole series from beginning to now. Soundtracks for this set would also be nice, but a mail-away for a giant wall-scroll showing every character ever to appear in the series would be higher on my list, as I can get the OST's elsewhere.

I am still fleshing out my ideas, and have not yet decided what my third series choice will be, although there is a good chance it will be KOF. I am still working on my idea for that one.

I'd like to see a King of the Monsters box set, which includes both games (maybe on CD format), an arranged soundtrack CD, a nice big wall poster, a booklet with character art and preproduction sketches, and maybe a video that interviews the creators (with subtitles of course). The box could have monster flesh pressing, giving it a sort of organic look, and maybe be shaped like Geon's footprint or something.

That's a really cool idea BU, I'll probably be thinking of other box sets I'd like to see...

Metal Slug Box Set
A 4-disc set With MS, MSX, MS3, and soundtrack. Box would be a metal box, olive drab in color, with "Metal Slug" printed in black military-style stenciling on the front. The case would be opened by two flipscrews on the side of the case. Inside will be maps of stages with "SECRET" stamped in red ink on the top and bottom of each page. Also included in the package would be a canteen and MRE.

KOF Box Set
Would come in two four disc volumes. Vol.1 featuring KOF'94-97, Vol.2 featuring KOF'98-2000 and soundtrack. Both in normal CD jewel cases. Vol.1 will have Kyo and Iori on the cover while K' and Maxima grace the Vol.2 cover. both volumes will include a manual with comprehensive movelists for each character in a given year and bonus artwork, much like the special book in KOF'98.

Strikers 1945+ boxed set
Includes the game and a book giving a detailed history of all the planes involved and their significance in WWII. Also comes with die-cast 1/64 models of all the planes.

i'd do a metal slug box set, only on carts. an augmented ammo can with a brushed metal interior with 4 slots would be where the carts rest. each game would be locked into place and would have some sort of release button next to the slot to make it unlock and rise up. the ammo can would be "roughed up", and would have the Metal Slug logo stamped onto the side, and would have a serial number stamped onto the side as well. also, the ammo can would have a watertight seal, just like a military issue. it could include an art book, soundtracks, or even a special Metal Slug Joystick which is plated with silver and has the Metal Slug logo stamped on the front. The buttons would have a military type font to them, with rubber centers and tops, and the joystick would be long and narrow, with rubber grips. Might even want to throw in a few dog tags...

It'd be hella expensive, but DAMN that'd be cool!

oh, and each cart will be brushed metal, and the Metal Slug logo will be imprinted onto each one.

I'd have a set that included Legend of Success Joe, Fight Fever, and Diggerman. It would included the names and addresses of all those responsible for the existence of theses titles along with photographs and maps to their houses. It would also include detailed instructions on the making and detonating of homemade explosives.

Also, it would include a numbered, limited edition melon-baller for gouging out one's own eyes after playing the games.

Fatal Fury 1,Fatal Fury 2, and special box set.
It would include everything about how the lone wolves came to be, and would have and art book featuring rough skeches of Jeff Bogard's life.
It will include a extra disk called "Bonus" or such, which will show very highly detailed scenes for each of the characters.
Another cd would be included called "themes of fury" which would have every song of the three titles.
On the back it would have a gold outline around the screen shots of the games, and a picture of Krauser.
I would have the front with the SNK made art mixed into a shadowy effect.
The side would be detailed in a very classy look. And of course gold rims to match the backs appearance, I am talking metallic gold.
The name?
Fatal fury, battle never ceases.
Thats my compilation.
