The importers already have this in stock, I just drove to Buyrite and purchased mine. Haven't played it yet, I will get back on that later. Here are the importer links, please don't start another NCSX vs Buyrite flame thread, there are enough of those in the forums already. If you don't know enough about either importer's rep, search for the thread.

Mine is coming in later this weekend through NCS, along with a new CD Lens for my DC. In the immortal words of Ren & Stimpy...

WAIT A SECOND!!! There are some possibilities with this game. Let's go to the options menu...

Item 1 of interest:
Run On/Off
(was hidden in CVS)

Item 2 of interest:
Turbo Speed Turbo1 Turbo2 Turbo3 Turbo4
(new option!!!)

There could actually be some action this time around, I will know for sure when I play someone using these options. Run is a no-brainer, but the Turbo options especially 4 are very fast and do not compensate for move input, so you need to pull the moves at lightning speed or they won't come out.

Now the rest... there are no EX versions of either Dan or Joe. In keeping with the CVS tradition, Dan has 3 supers plus his super taunt and all of his moves. Joe got shafted and has only 1 super and is missing moves. Gotta wait for the sequel before Capcom actually has the guts to fully implement the SNK characters it seems.

There are also the tweaks and additions to the characters, more on that below.

Apparently the good combos are even harder. The only character I am a master of is Vega (US) so let me go into detail. Vega's rolling attack has been strengthened and no longer misses hits like it did before. There seems to be more lag at the end, though! My favorite CVS corner combo does not work anymore:

Jump HP, b, cLK, f+HP, b, cHP, f, b, f+PP

...because there is too much lag after the rolling attack. It seems that even with greater speed, Capcom is determined to insure that there are no good combos at all in CVS.

But Vega has a new move now, standing close HK which is basically a fierce hit at close range which he did not have before. I have no idea what to do with this, with the charge times as vicious as ever I can add something after it but it is not worth the effort vs cHP.

Actually, this was in the first game.

Yes, it has been so long since I played the first (yawn) that I am having trouble figuring out what is different. I will edit the comment above in a minute.

In the meantime, some updates:
Shin Gouki is the hidden boss, but so far he is basically the old Gouki with a double fireball in the air. He is also easy to beat, not like Shin in SSF2T.

EX Rugal's dashing grab comes out much faster than before, the weak version is actually comboable. Ken's DP kick is now done on backward DP and looks like Sean's move from SF3. Vega has a new win pose where the snake tattoo comes to life.

As for whether to buy it? Depends on how long you can hold out for CVS2. There are a lot of little changes in this one, it looks like, but the overall game system is the same as before.

New DC CD lens? Hmm... were you having problems with your original one? I had a problem where games would reset out of nowhere, sometimes over and over again in sucession, and it seemed that the discs couldn't be read... it was very annoying, especially while playing RE:CV.

I used one of those CDs with the lens brush, which fixed the problem, but it returned again recently, which didn't surprise me because all the little brush does is move the debris around.

I keep everything very clean, and this is the first system that has done this for me.

Did you have a similar problem? Maybe it's a defect in some of the consoles...

here is what i know about CVS ro

yellow life bar is green
ratio 1 characters are made weaker
dan does not have his otoko mitchi(mvc2)
joe has all his moves accept his kick super from kof 99
there are more frames of animation per character
cpu is smarter
all secrets unlocked from the start
dan and joe does not have their EX version.
graphics smoothen out but is still the same
in the character select screen, the announcer now does not tell the fighter's name instead the fighters taunts.
there are different speed options aka alpha 3.super turbo included!
certain character's EX version's moves have altered commands.

if you're hardcore enough, get the game.this game would tide me over until CVS2 hits proper.i'm getting a pirated version anyway for $5,this way capcom is not gonna steal my money for just 2 fighters.i'm getting CVS2 original though when it comes.

More on the features:

Life bar does not increase between rounds
Joe is NOT as above, he has only 3 moves and 1 super

And more on the characters:

Rugal is much improved. A lot of people say the Genocide cutter comes out quicker but I did not notice that. What I noticed was that EX Rugal's dashing grab is 4x faster! How about this combo into the corner for EX?

I don't suppose the Shotos lost the ability to two-in-one a super uppercut off a low trip did they? All the improvements in the world won't make a difference to me if they can still do that crap.
