I have read that, in the Japanese the music for the final fight stage has lyrics, including swearing and the word "fuck". However I have never played the Jap. version myself, so I cannot verify this for you.

Yeah, I have the Japanese version, and there are lyrics in the Final Fight stage. There isn't in the US version? That would suck, because that's my favorite tune in the game! Yeah, there's a part where the music gets quite, the the lyrics say something like "fuckin' spill". I heard it the very first time playing, and when friends come over they are a bit surprised, too! <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0">

The US version's Final Fight stage does not have lyrics. On a similar note, I've noticed that the US arcade version doesn't have that music at all, instead it uses the same music as the SNK (rain) stage.

Yeah, but do you not find it odd that the American version's of Crazy Taxi 1 and 2 both have the 'shit' word?

I guess, with SEGA at least, that including swears is up to the publisher.

I know with Nintendo though, it is a nono.

I don't know, I've heard that Conker's Bad Fur Day is surprisingly foul, and it's developed by Nintendo's top 3rd party, Rare. I haven't played it though -- I don't own a N64.

As for Sony, I was very surprised when I read the phrase "God damnit" in Final Fantasy VII -- more than once. I never thought I'd see that in a console game.
