I don't mean to speak for you VB, but I wanted to give you credit since I got this idea from you (in your response to the Kasumi's dad thread).

What Vinyl said that I thought was interesting was that Todoh's EX version should be his daughter Kasumi. That's an excellent idea! I know Capcom would never actually do it, but it'd be cool if the characters EX version was a different character who happens to share moves/animation frames etc. That way they could have more characters without needing to start from scratch on animation etc. for each one. Pairings could be like the following (regular character/EX character):

-Ryu/Gouki
-Ken/Sean
-Vice/Mature
-Cammy/Juni or Juli
-Guile/Charlie
-Kyo/Shingo
-Kim/one of his sons
-Morrigan/Lilith
-Yun/Yang
-Todoh/Kasumi

others they could include:

Galford/Hanzo
Hanzou/Fuuma
Zangief/Mike Haggar (a good match, even though I don't really want to see Haggar in a fighter)
Ralf/Clark

Admittedly, not every character could do this since they don't all share moves or animation. Still, it'd make unlocking the EX versions a hell of alot more worthwhile. Anybody else have any good combos?

Why thank you Apathy for the kind words!

Capcom has done the whole Yun/Yang thing before in the first SFIII. And with so many characters having very similar counterparts, it would be a great idea if Capcom did consider doing something like this in CvS2.

They probably won't go to the extremes by placing entirely different characters as their EX versions, but I don't see why these couldn't exist:

Yun/Yang
Nakoruru Slash/Bust
Vice/Mature
Ralf/Clark
Guile/Charlie

Apathy pretty much hit most of the obvious ones on the head. The one I would personally want to see the most would be The Slash/Bust Nakoruru. An EX version of Nak that fights with her wolf instead of her bird would be quite excellent indeed.

Also, I just thought of another character that needs to be in the game as a R4... how about Nightmare Geese?

Ya forgot some:

Ryo/Robert
Yuri/Takuma (I know this ain't exactly a close comparison but still...)

If Ryu, Ken, Gouki, and Sakura can be in the same game with little differences, why not the Kyokugenryu crew?!

I like it to a point. Let's not get carried away. Kyo turning into Shingo? Um, I love Shingo, but I want Kyo 94 in there, too.

It works for Kasumi/Todoh and Yang/Yun, but that's about as far as I would like it to go. MAYBE Zangief/Mike Haggar, but that's really it.

I like the idea of Hanzou and Fuuma but only one small nit-pick...... they're intense rivals.
Their rivalry isn't like Andy and Terry's nor Ken and Ryu's..... they really despite one another.

But if that is what it takes to be in the game, I'm all for it! Also these combinations would be perfect......

-Dragon and Fei Long
-Gill and Neo Dio
-Brocken and Dhalism
-Mudman and Blanka (this is a PERFECT team!)

When I combo'ed up the characters I did it based on shared animation (most of them anyway). Like Ryu and Gouki are essentially different heads on the same body. That's why Hanzou and Fuuma are together - they have the same body and special move animations (or at least they did). It'd be easier to have characters that share frames. Look at Mortal Kombat - like 50% of their characters were one guy dressed in a ninja costume. j/k
