I for one plan to buy a PS2 (since DC is almost dead HAHA!!) and I'd like to see how this one will turn out (after all I already have a DC)

I am only concerned if the DC and PS2 versions are exactly the same. I assume the DC version will be arcade perfect (because I think it is being released on the Naomi board) and the PS2 version is being built from the ground up.

I don't care about extra features, only that the character rosters are the same and all the basic arcade features remain in tact.

What I would really hate is to have CvS2 a PS2 exclusive. I am not a fan of Sony, and I dont intend to be any time soon.

And that's the problem...
A system that was driven on so much hype, yet doesn't have nearly enough good games to back its claim. I see people spending all this money on the PS2 and it's really a joke.

You should always wait a year before you actually purchase the newest system. Get a look and feel for the typs of games that will be released for it, and see what type of support it gets from 3rd Party and stuff.

For old school fighting game freaks like me, I still see no use for the PS2. Especially since titles like Garou and CvS2 are coming out for the DC anyhow.

Ths PSX 2 has a lot to prove to many people on this board.... myself included. At the moment, its a substandard DVD player with the ability to play PSX1 games, and a few not very impressive PSX2 games. I never brought a PSX because it failed to impress me.... lets see if PSX2 makes the same mistake.

Oh, and i'm glad its coming out on PSX2, people who own the machine can still play this forthcoming (Possible) Masterpiece.

I'm skeptical of PS2 because one day I was passing by this game shot and they this demo showing a PS2 3D fighting game.....my gawd the graphics looked so damn grainy.....DC's resolution is so much better. Anway, I am primary fighter lover, I dun like nor have the patience to play RPGs (FF is out for me). Since Capcom is engaging in this multi platform strategy, I place more faith in the Xbox.

Metal Gear Solid 2 is enough reason for me to buy a PS2. I'm a Die Hard SNK fan but also a Die Hard Metal Gear fan too. XBox just sounds like 3DO to me and the Gamecube sounds quite pretty with Sega backing it up.

Down with a company who puts out a game console only, AND ONLY, for the money and not the enthusiast. Thats what the Playstation is.. a money maker and a wanna be monopolist.

Sega and Nintendo and SNK put out consoles for the enthusiast and gaming fans... Thats why you see intense fandom towards their consoles to this day. There are even some who would prefer to play on a Saturn than a PS2 (I am one of them!).

But this isn't a debate on consoles... this is about CvS2... and I am just glad it is coming to DC.
