Cacom VS SNK 2 US coming out on.....

Well I just got my Project Justice disk and in the package there was a capcom catalog. I browsed through the pages and looked at the new games. then I saw it Capcom vs SNK 2. I was exicted at first, but then I looked on the left hand side of the page. Playstaion 2.....argh. Why is the world so cruel. Well I guess I will finally see how well a 2-d fighter will look and play like on the PS2, but I was hoping for a dreamcast release. Oh well.

Hopefully there was not already a post on this. I only browse this forums occasionaly.

It is coming out on the import DC, though. That PS2 decision was still peliminary.. and a Capcom representative told IGN that an announcement for the US DC version of CvS2 might be coming soon. But till now, it's comfirmed for the US PS2, Japanese PS2 and Japanese DC. We'll have to wait on a US announcement, hopefully.

really why do you guys hate the PS2, do you guys think for one second that the PS2 owners ,such as myself, would like a kickass 2D fighter too...

True, I love my Dreamcast to death but if my PS2 can deliver "arcade perfect" with no loading than I have not one problem with that. Besides the wait for MGS2 is long so I need to wipe the dust off my PS2 with something new to play besides all the 3D crap of today.

We don't hate the PS2, well at least I don't. But I'm almost certain I speak for the majority when I say that the system was *WAY* overhyped. It doesn't have many ORIGINAL games either (not sequels) that stand out. PS2 relied almost exclusively on the popularity of the PS1 before it had any outstanding games.

It was totally rushed as well. Look at all of the problems people are having with playing DVDs, and with using PS1 games and accessories. I haven't seen so many incompatibilities since I played most of my games on PC.

And finally, Sony has expressed an aversion to 2D... and we are 2D fans. THAT's the biggset reason. I thought it was awesome when I read Bobak mention that CvS2 was the most popular E3 Capcom game. It only resonates the truth that yesterday, today and tomorrow, gameplay is where it's at.

Without a doubt. If you live in Southern California, you're guaranteed to play it there first (crap). It is way too anticipated by every tourney fighter in the US, I'd expect.
