Does anyone know what Yamazaki says to Terry in Capcom vs. SNK? Is it something about Andy?

"I was going to use this on Andy."

Then Terry breaks it.

"You'll regret that!"

Just to make sure I was right, I tossed the game in and went to practice mode. I was exactly right.

"Andy de, tsukau yo"

"koukaisuru zo!"

You know... that's a good idea! I've always wondered... since King of Fighters '97, what do Kyo and Iori say to each other? How about this, can anyone who checks out this thread, that knows ANY translations, please post 'em up here? I'd appreciate that a lot! Thanks!

Oh... Look at this! My posts are finally over 100! Does this mean I can get an avatar now?

I can give you a close translation (and others that know, too... please help along!).

Kyo: (this) flame is calling for you
Iori: Then why not go ahead and put it out.

So to speak.

As far as Ryu vs Kyo, I can only make this much out:

heh, kono (???) janai ka. Honkide ikuze!

Well, isn't this (???)! Give me all you got!

Honkide means seriously, and ikuze is a very masculine way to say go, like "go for it". Anyone know what he's talking about? It's not kenka, is it? I just can't understand him (of course, I can't understand some of the frickin' English in the game, either).

Let me run down some of the basic moves, for now.... since this could be the biggest post I'll make in my posting life trying to translate every thing!

I'll start with the two poster boys of KOF:

Iori:
"asobi wa owari da! nake sakebe soshite, shine!"

Play time is over! CRY! SCREAM! THEN DIEEE!

"Sono mama shine"

Die (in that which I left you, or just like that). If you want to make it more English friendly, then: go ahead and die, just like that!

Iori's taunt
"Orewa kowai no ka?"
Aren't I scary?

As Iori's being knocked out

"Sonomama owaren zo!" (I think)

It can't end like this!!!!

Kyo:

"ore no... KACHI DA!"

I'm the winner (lit: It's my... VICTORY!)

"Kore de OWARI DA!"

With this (blow), it's is the END!

"hehe... moetero!"

Hehe... burn!

He also says burn a LOT in his other phrases, as well.

Well, that's a start.... if anyone would help me out/correct me along the way, that would be great! Another thing, you will notice I use parenthesis a lot while doing this. Japanese like to leave out key words when the meaning is known. I will go ahead and put "()" in just to show what's being talked about. Rest assured that this is how they understand it, and I'm not adding anything. I've seen some translations on other things that are way off, or over "englishized". I won't do that, I'll try to make it as close as possible without it sounding to "Engrish".

I don't know much Japanese, but with the little I know, I always thought that the "Ore no... KACHIDA!" was, using the "more english" term, "Victory is mine!" Am I wrong?

Ore (me/I) no (possesive) kachi (the noun form of katsu, which is to win) da (is)

My victory. Yeah, the pure English way would be victory is mine, I suppose... but depends on how you say it. I would say "I am the winner", to be honest.

Okay... here's another translation question. It's not Capcom vs. SNK, but maybe someone out there knows it. What do Kyo and Iori say to each other in King of Fighters 2000?

OK.. this is what they are saying in the intros of CVS:

Kyo Kusanagi vs. Iori Yagami

Kyo: Hoono ga, omae o yonderu ze... = My Flame is calling you!
Iori: Nara moetsukiro, isagi yoku na... = Then Burn Out, as it
commands!

Kyo Kusanagi vs. Ryu

Kyo: Humph...Sono tedo Jado jenaika? Honkide Ikuze! = Humph...My
power doesn't scare you? WELL I'M GONNA' SHOW YOU EVERYTHING THAT I
HAVE, LET'S GO!

Chun-Li vs. Ryuji Yamazaki

Hon-Fu: Chun-Li Deka!: Koko wa kono Hon-Fu ni omakase yare! =
OFFICER CHUN-LI!: I (Hon-Fu) will fight this guy!
(Then Yamazaki Snake Charms his arse and he runs away crying like a
girl!) ^_^

Ken Masters vs. Terry Bogard:

Ken: (picking up Terry's hat and throwing it to him) Sore! = Here!

Rugal Bernstein vs. Guile:

Rugal: Kimi nu shino bashowa koko da! = This is where you will die!
Guile: (destroying the statue) SONIC BOOOUUUM!

Rugal Bernstein vs. Vega/M. Bison:

Rugal: Sonotch karamo watashingo torikum dekurio! = I will take your
power from you!
Vega: (Any one of his intro phrases.)
Rugal: (Signaling his panther to leave) Sare! = Go!

Iori Yagami vs. Vega/M. Bison:

Sono kubi kakitaryaru! = I will cut your neck! (I think he
means to say, "Your head is mine!")
Iori: (Throwing his Creeping Darkness) Doushita? = What's wrong?
Iori: Sugu rakunish teyaru! = I'll end your suffering quickly!

Vice vs. Rugal Bernstein:
Employee!

Vice (w/Mature): Isatsua Muki daiyo! = Let's skip the introductions!
Rugal: Yo karo Zenyo kude Kurugai E = Well then, Show me your true
power!

Vice vs. Cammy & Evil Ryu:

Vice: Anta no hime kikosete morau wa! = Let me hear you scream! (I'm
picturing something very nasty with this...) ^_^

Kyo Kusanagi vs. Benimaru Nikaido:

Kyo: Ikuze! = Let's do this!
Benimaru: Kore karaga Main Event sa! = This is the Main Event!

Ryo Sakazaki vs. Yuri Sakazaki:

Yuri: Oni-Chan, Kakugo suruchi! Brother, PREPARE YOURSELF!
Ryo has an "OMG/you must be kidding" look on his face and slaps his
forehead.

King vs. Sagat:

King: Ateni narua! = I can trust you...
Sagat stands and smiles.

Yuri Sakazaki vs. Sakura Kusugano:

Yuri: Osu! (A greeting from one fighter to another.)
Sakura: Kotchira koso, Yoroshiku onegai shimasu. = Thank you, I'm
pleased to me you. (Believe it or not, this has one of the
strangest meanings in the game! Though the translation I have is
accurate, there are others that are similar such as "Thank you, I'm
honored to meet you." etc.)

23. Chun-Li (Zang) vs. Mai Shiranui:

Mai is dressed in Chun-Li's traditional get-up, and says, "Shiranui
Mai, mairi masu! = Mai Shiranui is coming!"
Chun-Li watches and then gets ready.

Ok... if you want more translations.. just vist

Never have played it... give me a sound sample, and I'll tell you.

Be careful with getting translations over the net (like gamefaqs). Some of them don't even spell the Japanese properly, never mind get the translations correct.
