I'M A NEW MEMBER HERE.
THESE PEOPLE ARE OBSESSED WITH THIS RATIO SYSTEM.
DID YOU KBOW THAT THERE ARE MORE ANTI RATIO THAN PRO RATIOS,TRY TO JOIN THE OTHER FORUM AND SEE HOW THEY HATE IT. I ALSO AGREE ABOUT THE MORRIGANE /YAMAZAKI ISSUE , IN JUST ONE KISS I'M SURE YAMAZAKI IS A SKELETON ,YEAH THAT THE TECHNIQUE SHE USES IF SHE LIKED A MAN. AND RATIO SYSTEM WILL MAKE THE PERSONS NEGATIVE THINKER ABOUT YOU. EXAMPLE IF YOU USE 4 R1 CHARACTERS THE PLAYERS WILL SAY THAT YOUR ARE UNFARE AND A CHAETER FOR USING 4 CHARACTERS.AND THAT IS THE SAME WAY WILL HAPPNED TO YOU IF YOU USE A R1 CHARACTER.

THANKS ANDROID NO 16.

AND I MEMORIZED THE GAME ALREADY AND I DID NOT AND I FEEL BORED WHEN I MEMORIZED THE GAME. UNLIKE THE TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT IT'S REALLY FUN AND NOT ANNOYING BECAUSE OF CERTAIN EQUALLITY.

I agree For the words of Ice burn,
even in ARCADES in my country did't like the ratio system. KOF 2000 , mVSc2 and Project justice get's higher ratings. ratio system had destroyed the dream fight of the teens.

and I can finish the game with all ratios but Im' still bord for the ratio system.

and Ziggy you ratio 4,!
your dreaming awake,
Iceburn and ziggy I hate the people who think they are the best. I got high grades in school and a beautiful girlfreind and 3 medals in judo but I never think Im' the best coz all people are equal in god's eye.

you're already the best, esak1er. why have more power?

by the way esak1er: remember that mvc2 tournament? what was that ricky's last name? i saw in tips and tricks that a ricky oritz won a mvc2 tournament in sunnyville ...

Boring? So you've mastered *every* team, Esak1er?
Guess it must be hard being the grand-master of
every ratio team in CvS.

(Let me define boring for you.
Boring: your arguement against the ratio system.)

Then unlock Pairing mode on the Dreamcast, or hold LP+HP+START after you instert your coin and the arcade. So quit your whining.

God, sometimes I think people complain just to hear themselves complain.

By Esak1er on Monday, March 19, 2001 - 08:20 am:
I cant use sagat and ryu together.
I cant use bison and ryo together.
I cant use vega and guile together.
and that is why the ratio system stinks.

It gets boring with the restrictions givin.

Scorpio: spot on. It's SKILL that matters,
regardless of the team-system in the game. Get
some practive, people.

Kuno: Again, right on the money. The ratio system
helps give each character a little more depth. The
ratio 1's aren't bad. Why can't people get this
through their thick heads?

Garfield_15: If you want to talk racism, how about
the LACK of characters from most countries in the
world? There are no Australians in CvS, for example.

Also, who cares if the ratios aren't what YOU
think they should be? It's CAPCOM and SNK's
creations here, not YOURS. Someone had to make a
call. (I think anything they went with would have
upset you.)

Ice_burn15: Thanks for adding nothing to the
topic. Helpful as always.

(I noticed no-one even looked at my compromise
idea. Maybe I need a new thread for it, or maybe
the anti-ratios are too narrow minded to consider
it. I'm going with the latter for now...)

Bottom line:- these reasons are all hopeless:
1) Unfair/Unbalanced.
(So's life. Get over yourself.)
2) Wrong ratios assigned.
(Capcom aren't perfect, and neither are YOU.)
3) I can't make my Ryu, Akuma, Geese, Iori
team.
(I'm guessing you don't win much. Try harder.)
"I have yet to see your best." - Ryu.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Kuno on Sunday, March 18, 2001 - 12:46 pm:
Ok then, if you are gonna get rid of the Ratio system, then what is the point of putting Ken and Ryu in the game if you are gonna have Akuma and Evil Ryu in there? Their is NONE! Evil Ryu is basically Ryu with more moves and a better fireball. WHy the heck would you choose regular Ryu if you are gonna put him in there? Same with Akuma. Capcom made this ratio system because some characters ARE better then others. Having just Ryu and Ken vs Akuma and evil Ryu would be what Garfield_15 said "Unfair".

And for all of those bashing on the 1 tier characters, saying that Capcom is showing that they are weak. Well, most of those characters are generally weak. In the KOF games, Yuri and Benimaru don't win the tournament, Iori and Kyo do, thats why they are worth more. And I don't think Sakura got as good as then Ryu in the short time that she has been practicing martial arts.

Oh yeah, whoever said King is weak needs to shut up. I just beat Balrog and Bison with King alone at the Arcade. She is a monster!

Hi everyone,
Maybe the girls in bbs missed me.
Im not available for 1 week coz I have some vacation with my family.
now I readed all of your interactions and I see that there are people who are very fanatic of ratio system. in arcade shops, people are most people are playing tekken tag ,marvel vs. capcom 2 ,and KOF 2000 instead of capcom vs. snk and I asked a girl who plays capcom vs. snk and i tell her do you enjoy this game?. and she answered I only enjoy to see nostalgic characters together but not the game play.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Scorpio on Thursday, March 15, 2001 - 09:02 pm:
Garfield_15,what your saying makes no sense at all.
What does the characters nationality have to do with their ability to fight and your playing capabilty? Your way off base in your arguement. Not everyone is good with Cammy or Ryu or Vice or King or whoever. Everybody is different in who,how and why they play with the characters they choose.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Garfield_15 on Thursday, March 15, 2001 - 08:47 pm:
playing capability huh, but you can't create your dream 4 combinations of characters.coz all of the characters had ratios and as i say ratio system is a ultamate racist.Look at king and cammy in other games they are great while in this one totally weak, and they are europeans and the japanese programers are saying that europeans are weak.

WHY? WHY? I wanted more than just AKuma or Evil Ryu! But NOOOOO! This freaking ratio system stops us from that! I swear...the reason Jin wasn't in this game...is because he would b a ratio 10!
HAHAHAHAHA! Oh well.....
I am against the ratio system cause I can't play ALL my faves.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Scorpio on Thursday, March 15, 2001 - 08:34 pm:
Looks like I'm in the minority also...for Indifference. To me,it makes no difference about the ratio system because if your playing capability isn't up to snuff against other people, then who you pick as a team is meaningless if that player is an R1 or an R4.For example just because a person has 4 R1 players against me playing as Evil Ryu, I still have to win 4 matches in order to survive. Now I can be a great Evil Ryu player but if I lose to Cammy or King then I'm done, not because that character has better moves or more stronger than mine. It's because I failed to get the job done against my opponent. It's my fault not the game's or the characters.

How YOU play determines whether or not that characters worth playing on your squad.Period!!

and i HATE PAIRMATCH MODE I WILL RATHER LIKE ICE_BURN'S IDEA coz it's the combination of tekken tag tournament to Kof's fighting style.
It' s unfare for why does the strong characters get faster the real good thing is the weak ones must gain speed like what kof' had. and the strong ones must have big damages but slow combos. that is reality.i hate ratio system for the R1 character are easy to be knockout, and they are totally insulted like Cammy's case. she is the only character from England but she is only r1 so this japanese programers are indicating that people from england are weak and americans and japanes are strong.meow

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Garfield_15 on Thursday, March 15, 2001 - 08:11 pm:
you dont' understand what tell about morrigane , I hate ratio system because why a bully like Yamazaki is ratio 3 , he is one of the the most easiest to defeat character in kof then his ratio is higher than the queen of darkness that sucks.
and the only positive side of the r1 characters is they can be combined with all characters but actually they are totally insulted. Ratio system indicates that R1 characters are weak and matchless in reality. and the boss is the only one who has the right to be the strongest.
and removing the r4 characters is not the solution.
the real solution is to removed ratio system.
huh! it's not fare for there is no equality.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Ziggy on Thursday, March 15, 2001 - 06:32 pm:
See... I knew I couldn't be the only one who
thought the system was cool. I can't help but
notice that only *good* arguements have been given
in support, while poor ones have been used
against. In fact, no one has even tried to defend
their dislike of the ratio system. (My compromise
will be nice if it's in CvS2, but for now, we have
to use what we've got.)

Kuno is 100% correct. Also, all those whiners who
use pair match mode: do you ever pick Blanka and
King, or Vice and Ryu? Of course not! You pick a
team whose ratio score is greater than 4,
otherwise why bother? (Unless you can't handle
playing an opponent with more characters than
you... in which case you're just a wimp.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Kuno on Thursday, March 15, 2001 - 05:38 pm:
To tell you the truth I love the ratio system. Not only is it a unique system, but it lets you create unique combinations of characters. My two personal favorite teams right now are Sagat and Vice, and Terry and Morrigan. And sometimes to mix things up I just use Sakura, Cammy, and Ken

I hear a lot of people complaining about how it makes it unfair. WHat a bunch of whiners. Some say having 4 1 tier characters against 1 4 tier character is unfair. Jeeze, I defeated 4 1 tier characters with my Terry alone, and still had about 40% of my life left. On the other hand, I took out the first Geese and cut the second Geese down to about 60% energy with my Vice at the arcade.

THe system is fair, it's just skill that matters. If a person using Sagat vs. a person using King, and they both have about the same skill, the Sagat person is probably gonna win because he inflicts more damage and takes less damage. But if he fights 3 1 tier guys, they will eventually wear him down untill he's dead. It all balances out in the end.

And BTW, for you pair people. Their is a code on the arcade version that makes everyone worth 2 points. So you can do your little pairing system since ya cant put up with the tier system.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Ziggy on Thursday, March 15, 2001 - 02:47 pm:
OK... my little ego-trip aside (sorry), after some
thinking overnight, I realised that there was a
simple solution to the ratio system business. I
can't believe I missed it, either, since SFA3
showed us the way already.

And the solution is? Well, in SFA3, Capcom gave us
the choice of our Ism, which greatly affected the
way any given character played. They balanced out
the differences with damage and block-meter tweaks
(see a good SFA3 FAQ for details). In CvS, we get
to choose our Groove (similar deal to the Isms),
but are then forced into the Ratio system or Pair
Match Mode, depending on what a player chooses
(one will have to simply go along with it, like it
or not).

To fix this in CvS2 without losing the Ratio
system, each player should first choose their
Groove, and then choose between RATIO or PAIR
PLAY. If you choose PAIR PLAY, everyone is Ratio
2, and all your CPU fights are against 2 R2 teams.
If you choose RATIO you get the standard ratio
system, and CPU matches will be generated using
this system.

What do you think? Is this a good compromise?

Finally, CvS2 could up the ratio total, much like
MvC2 increased to teams of 3 on 3. Simply go up to
6 ratio points on each team, with all R2s in Pair
Play, and the usual R1-4 in Ratio mode (no more 1
character teams, please). My point is the Ratio
system doesn't have to die to solve everyone's
problems.

heh. ratio 4... in wisdom, and strength, maybe...
hey, i am a pro ratio user, too. i agree with every word from ziggy. TRAIN!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Ziggy on Wednesday, March 14, 2001 - 09:43 pm:
Counter Points:

1) Lucky Ratio 1 players... they can have 4 people
on their team! I wish I was a huge fan of all the
Ratio 1 characters so I could be as lucky. (Ratio
1 characters can beat Ratio 3 and 4 no problem.
Just look at Dhalsim vs Sagat, or Blanka and King
vs Anyone to see what I mean. If you can't manage
this, then practice some more with your favourite
R1. If you like them, why aren't you busy playing
them and getting to this level?)

2) Die easy? The only time a character can really
"die easily" is R1 vs R4. R1 vs R2 isn't that big
a difference. (Again: R1 fans rejoice.) In this
one case, you can have a R3 or R1+R2, or even 3 R1
characters to add to your team, and chances are
you'll win through sheer weight of numbers. It can
be done, and isn't that hard to achieve.

3) Which team do you so badly want to create? If
you play the "more balanced and fare" SFA3 or SF3,
then how many teams can you not create? ALL OF
THEM. You can create your own combinations: next
time you pick Sagat, you'll notice that you can
choose from 8 other people for your team. That's a
combination choice YOU make. Duh.

As to being alone: good. Unlike you anti-ratio
people, I don;t mind if the odds are stacked
against me. (Consider me ratio 4, and each of you
Ratio 1. NOW it's a fare discussion. See?)

by the way you are the only pro ratio systemin this room.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Android_no16 on Wednesday, March 14, 2001 - 09:11 pm:
okay i will complain with you ,ratio system is unfare for you cannot create your own combinations. and it's not fare if the characters are easy to die. maybe you will complain that it is related to the reality. Man do you think that it is fun for those who idolized the r1 characters. as a matter in fact you are the only pro ratio system in this thread, i hate angels charlie and IM annoyed with sherry but as you see i dont' like this system too.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Ziggy on Wednesday, March 14, 2001 - 08:09 pm:
Maybe I'm not being clear: WHAT IS SO UNFARE? The
whole concept of the system is to provide balance
in a more chracterful fashion.

As for Pair Match Mode: that's nice. Capcom gave
them a choice. So, let people choose. Tell me
Garfield_15: who is your pair match mode team?
What about other teams you have watched? Give me a
list. Also, are these vs CPU or humans? I'll
discuss this again when you give me a few more
details.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Ziggy on Wednesday, March 14, 2001 - 08:05 pm:
Angels_charlie: do you think every match-up in
SFA3 is "fare"? Come on... that's not even close
to answering my question.

Sherry_birkin:
1) I like Blanka. I see R1 Blanka as a *bargain*.
I'm not complaining. (He's a "circus"-type
character, like all the ratio 1 characters. How
can you say it's unfare?) As for Morrigane, would
people play her much if she was R4? Nope... few
use Akuma for this reason. (Personally, R4
characters are not that good. Solution: no ratio
4s...NOT kill the ratio system.) Would you prefer
if the immortal had infinite health? Would that be
more "in character"?

2) "Evil always rules"? If the bosses in a game
weren't stronger than the "heroes", how do you
think they became so evil and powerful? It makes
it a challenge when Ryu fights Bison, as it should
be. (Most players use Ratio 1 and 2 characters
anyway, so I don't see what moral-issue you're
worrying about.)

Sorry... so far no good arguements.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Garfield_15 on Wednesday, March 14, 2001 - 08:02 pm:
A cat is always right if you will listen. In arcade shops people play the pair match mode rather than the ratio method. And a logical person is someone who is fare. Unlike the ratio system. Ratio system smells like the cat food that i'm eating. Very smelly.

I know about the ratio system isn´t great so a R1 can became more defensive and Cheap against higher ratios because a combo of higher have more damage against him and ratio 4 became more attacking and agressive against less ratio because they are sure that have more lifebar and finish the match rapidlly, against the characters and their ratios are a stupid motive that put "teams" or their characters ,in KOF 2001(for example) and team or 2 characters win against teams of three if the players are equally in skill, and the nationalities and their suposed ratios are stupid to argue it, so many videogames have more American and Asian characters that Europeans, and it´s racism? Well, yes in an apropiate way, but the Europeans characters (for example Spanish characters) are designed that steryotypes and topics that see of their countries ..., the originatly of the designers wasn´t too great to put cool characters of EVERY style,country....
and Yuri and Benimaru are "weak" in KOF gameplay, a least Benimaru.
Last question: CvS 2 Yamazaki are more good that KOF Yamazaki because Shoryuken gurus say that H.punch and down H.punch are better in their CvS 2 incarnation that KOF incarnation?
My aswer: No, that their specials and super are toned down and have more lag tthat their KOF incarnation.
