Which of the two do you guys think are better? In my opinion its MVC1. It just seems to have/be: more balanced, More fitting Backgrounds, More than 1 Ending, Much less cheap Striker system, Better Music, No cheap ass infinites (As far as I know),Characters that feel complete(Have an ending, own music, own counter, etc) and a better final boss. I know that MVC1 only has 22 characters overall, and MVC2 has 56, but I really do prefer the first ones play system.I think that the sequel relies too much on Strikers and overwhelming the opponent. Am I the only one who thinks this way?

Im with you, MVC1 has character and class. LIke with everyone having their own music and capcom/marvel inspired backgrounds. Thats where i feel MVC2 falls flat. THe music and backgrounds are too damn generic for me. If they remade MVC1 with all the MVC2 characters then I'd be happy

although 56+ tracks of music could take up a LOT of space. oh well, i can always dream...

IM GONNA TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE!!!

Sorry but I have to go with MvC2 since I always get owned by the CPU on MvC and since I like the 3D backgrounds and the fact that I play a really cheap Spiral/Sentinal/Blackheart team. And never piss me off when I'm using Kobun/Servbot else I'll have to pull a Cable/Storm on you

If Fat Cat Lim was here he can back me up on the cheapless part

IMO, both games are cool. But My preference is MvC1, since it's got enough balance, funny endings, MUCH better music and no abusable infinite combos (which in MvC2 can be done easier than before). I'm a bit disappointed in MvC2, since it lost all of the magic that the first 3 games had .

Well if it was up to all four of them I would go with XvsSF mostly because of the combo-bility in it(only do infinites to the CPU unless someone is trying to do one on me).

The original MvC just didn't do it for me,I didn't like the speed of it(on the DC version)and the special effects sounds weren't as good compared to the MvC2 ones. The music I don't mind but it was just the lack of speed for gameplay. But as much I didn't like the game it doesn't stop me from using Onslaught on the CPU or Gold War Machine/War Machine team against human players

Trying to do infinites on me in MvC2 is hard since I play keep away but if they are dumb enough to think about it I'll just AHVB their assist to hell.I only play cheap if they do the same

I loved the second MVC because I could select a team containing Omega Red, Juggernaut and Venom. I didn't like the 4 button system as it screwed with my combo's and the music SUCKS!!!
MVS1 was the better title from the two as people have said, it's far more balanced and the strikers weren't as overwhelming.
Out of all the VS games(not including capcom vs snk) my favorite is MSHvsCap.

Ya mean Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter. And you're right, MSHvsSF IS the pinnacle of the Marvel vs games. Why? Here are some reasons:

1. Less Abusable Strikers
2. Improved X-Men vs SF engine
3. Lots of voice was given to the SF characters (they all got new lines of dialogue)
4. Zangief & Wolverine's themes kick ass
5. That crazy announcer
6. CyberAkuma's the toughest Marvel vs boss ever
7. Norimaro the world's most dorkiest fighter

What more can you want from a cool game?

So damn true. The striker system was easily the best, No infinites, No cheapasses.... Awesome. Although I wouldn't call them cheap in MvC anyway.....

Let's see....

MvC:

: Music fits the game better, there's a 6 button layout, good endings, nice 2D backgrounds, and limited use of strikers. The final boss Onslaught is way better than Abyss.

: Less colors on screen, lower resolution.

MvC2:

: There are 56 Characters, decent 3D backgrounds, three character teams, and it's done in high resolution.

: The music doesn't quite fit a Marvel game, there are 4 attack buttons instead of 6 (no instant Medium attacks), backgrounds that pale in comparison to Guilty Gear X's hi-res 2D and lack the Marvel feeling, NO real endings, and Abyss being too easy and not nearly as cool as Onslaught. Infinites do kind of hurt it as well as semi-unlimited Striker activity (all you gotta do is wait for Assist OK to appear), and some character pixelation.

I'm slightly in favor of MvC1. MvC2's main improvement is the number of characters, but it has added some issues of its own.

Okay... when I was first playing MvC2, I thought it was the best vs. game ever, after I got over using only 2 punch/kick buttons.

But now, after everything has settled and all of the MvC2 infinities have been discovered, I have to say that I like the first game more.

MvC1

+ Awesome roster.

- Could have used more characters instead of the swap-palette secret chars, with the exception of Roll, but does anyone actually use her? Come on....

+ Limited special partners, and intersting ones at that; Anita, for example.

+ Music for each character.

+ A much tougher final boss.

+ Individual character endings.

MvC2

+ 56 characters!! What do you want??

- Some characters weren't given enough attention. Sentinel, for example.

- Characters that are simply too weak. Dan, for example.

+ The 3-D backgrounds look great, although they don't feature anything terribly interesting.

+ I for one *like* the music.

- No individual character endings.

---------- INFINITIES! I HATE THEM!

++++++++++ Morrigan's new winning animation, where she changes into bondage gear, and Lilith is lowered from the top of the screen while cuffed to a chain. This is the best thing I have ever seen in a video game.

Yeah, that Morrigan thing is great. Only saw it a couple of weeks ago, but it ranks up there in the best video game moments ever for sure.
