I just watched a streaming video clip of CvS Pro at www.videogames.com. It showed characters pulling super cancels ala SFEX or MvC2. It showed Rugal interrupting his Gigantic Pressure DM with the kick DM (Total Annihilation?). I also think I saw Chun Li interrupting her b,f,b,f + K super with her db,df,db,u + K super and Guile interrupting his two supers. I say 'think' because streaming video looks like ass on my computer and I don't have time to download a clear version of the movie. Does anyone know if super cancelling is supposed to be in the game? It damn well better not be . Shit like that ruins serious fighters.... And it better well not find it's way into CvS2! Well, maybe as an option - that way I don't have to endure it's incredible lameness.

Here's the link to the page if anyone's interested in having a look

Hmm.. In the first game, Apathy... In the SNK Groove, When your life bar is about to finish and is flashing red, you can connect one super to another... For Example: Terry would do a Level 3 Buster Wolf and then does a Level 1 Power Geyser. It might be that. But I saw a bunch of movies from Shoryuken.com which showed a few characters who can combo one super into another by the Capcom Groove.

Naw, I don't mean comboing supers (connecting with one right after the first finishes). I'm talking about interrupting the super with another super. In your example, the Buster Wolf would be canceled before it reached it's total number of hits and the Power Geyser would come out immediately and hit the opponent while their still in hit stun from the BW. The BW followed by PG is a juggling combo - I don't have any issue with those. Actually that exact Terry combo is in the video as well.

Thing about the video is it was so hard to make out anything that I can't be sure it was super canceling. I suppose it's possible it could have been juggle hits after the first super ended. But it looked like canceling to me. That's why I'm curious if anyone else knows anything about CvS Pro having supercanceling.

Fuck, I hope it isn't in there. Those moves have no skill at all in them, and are just for making Cheap asses that little bit stronger... Didn't SFEX have them in as well? Oh great..... :(

There are no super cancels. Those were merely juggles done next to each other consecutivly. I repeat, they are not super cancels. If you want to see exactly whats possible in CvS then goto www.shoryuken.com and download my CvS combo video.

It deosnt matter, i watched that video and those are just simple juggles that i thought everyone knew about. I can also guarante that there will be LITTLE to no combo system changes in CvS Pro, the only thing that COULD happen is a possible loss of some combos for some chrs, but even then i dont see it happening. Im not trying to be an ass, im just telling you that people are quick to assume, oay attention to the movie then boot up training mode, there just simple juggles.

Excellent! You are saying just what I wanted to hear!! As I said, the quality of the streaming video was pretty poor so I couldn't be sure if it was cancels or juggles. Thanks for clearing that up! CvS2 is saved...(for the time being at least).

There is also no reason to fear super cancels, they were included in SF3 and they dont hurt the game at all(other stuff does :P)

I don't mind the kind of canceling in SF3 (a special into a super). It's not too overpowering. But I really dislike the super into super canceling. One of the things that I like about SF games is how the supers are set up. In games like the Zero series or CvS Capcom groove you have the triple level super bar, which gives you multiple options for using supers. You can stick to level 1 supers with the hopes you'll land all three, go for a better damage level 2 with a level 1 as backup, or you can go for the big damage level 3 and hope it connects. It makes using supers somewhat of a risk. With super to super canceling the gameplay devolves into trying to connect a single super so you can dump the remaining two super levels on your opponent. It eliminates the risk of missing with the level 3 super. You 'gamble' with your level one super and if it connects your pretty much guaranteed two additional supers. Yeah, each does less damage then they would outside of canceling but it's just too cheesy. The juggling combos require skill and timing, but the super to super canceling combos are just way too easy (especially for characters with straight forward supers like Sakura). That sort of things okay for games like MvC, but I'd rather not see serious fighters saddled with that kind of gameplay.

Then again maybe I'm just having a SFEX flashback....
