Anyone else notice that a lot of people will not have a rematch against you after a close match? Seems like too many people care only about their record and rating, and not good competition. There has been quite a few times where I'll beat someone maybe ranked better than me, in a good close match, and they won't fight me again. Are they really that worried about losing another match? Do they just wanna play scrubs all day just so they can win?

I dunno, but personally I'll always face someone at least a few times whether I win or lose, when it's a close competitive matchup. Yesterday I played teamfox, who is ranked somewhere around 40, and lost all 8 matches I played against him. But every match except one was right down to the wire and I had a good chance to win, just couldn't finish it off in the clutch. I promptly added him to the friends list though, especially since he wasn't some elitist who wouldn't give me more than one chance to play him just because he was highly ranked.

That's part of the reason why it sucks to play against American CvS2 Live players. Remember, American's (and I'm pretty sure most other countries) hate to lose at anything. It's a sad fucking stigma we have, cuz' apparently, human beings in today's age have no sense of (or very little) honor and admiration, especially Americans. Americans in general hate rivals because they always want to be the "Big Bad Good Guys", case in point, the Cold War.

Remember when the U.S. would stop at nothing short of Nuclear Holocaust to be better than the Soviet Union? Some ideology applies with gaming and CvS 2 today.

It's a sad thing, but what can we do... oh_no shame

Personally, if I play somebody and they pick a team of shotos, or a Blanka/Sagat/Bison/etc team (read: cheap characters), I will never request for a rematch. I want to play with somebody that doesn't exploit characters like Sagat/Blanka, and is naturally good with hard to learn characters like Geesek Hibiki, Yun, Zangief. When I find somebody like that, I will try to play them as much as I can. However, it's hard to weasel your way through the Blanka/Sagat/Shoto scrubs.

Well I do pick Akuma most of the time, but I wouldn't consider him cheap, just easier to use. My most used characters include Akuma/Guile/Terry/Haomaru and I sometimes use Cammy/Mai/or Rugal.

I hear ya on the Blanka/Bison thing, I get real sick of playing against Blanka.

I don't mind facing Akuma, because he's balanced with lower HP than most of the characters. When I speak of shotos, I just mean Ryu/Ken. Hell I don't even mind playing against Evil Ryu/Shin Akuma. 5 hits and they're dead :D

I play cvs 2 on dc :( but I think the cheapest team Blanka, Rolento, and Ryu. Blanka is a good character to put at #1 and where people down. Then rolento as well with his cheap knife moven that is easily avoid able but not counterattackable and then ryu #2 can rip 2 pointers apart. As for Sagat I think he is easy for newbs to use but he can be ripped apart if u know what you r doing. Geese is too underpowered in the game bison #1 point can kill a 3 point geese with ease  it is a shame really.

I'm sorry, but Sagat is by far the top tier in the game, followed closely by Blanka. Any character can be ripped apart if you know what you're doing, but Sagat has fucking priorities that easily makes him fucking cheap.

Actually Geese isnt underpowered, but he does have a learning curve...only thing I dont like is that the timing for his counters have to be pretty perfect...their "catch" animation doesn't stay out too long.

Joe's damn strong too...Invincible level 3 super, and an invincible tiger kick along with high priority moves of his own and long combos.

I use C groove a lot for the super cancels/air block, but hate the hops and would rather it run. I switch from C to N groove a lot, and when I'm feeling different I'll go for K or S.

S groove is similar to kof 94/95
N groove is similar to kof 97
k groove is Samurai Showdown 2 with MOTW Just Defend

C groove is basically like Alpha 3 plus hopping
A groove is the custom combo groove
P is Street Fighter 3 like with Parry

While Orochi Flava gave a good description, the grooves still need to be studied. Be aware of what's available in all of the grooves, figure out what sort of player you are and work with what groove works best for you.

I remember thinking I was okay at the game, but as soon as I played a few people online I realized that I needed to study this game, and study it hardcore. You should as well, and use this guide - http://db.gamefaqs.com/coinop/arcade/file/capcom_vs_snk_2_system_combo.txt

The above guide is a god-sent. There's an old thread floating around this forum of me crying because I got my ass kicked by shotos. It was embarrassing. After using the guide above, and playing more people, my game as improved 500% (no lie). I wish I could find that old person and whoop his ass because I know I can now.

I only rematch unless my opponent and I are equally at the highest challenging level. Depends on if we're playing a 10 win game or 5...

I still have to find that person though.
Go online and challenge anyone in 100 rank and up. You'd find the person you are looking for FAST. lol
