SNK, of whom is now Playmore, and Brezza still develops the King of Fighters. KoF2002 is in the horizon for an MVS/AES release.

so where is Capcom and their Street Fighter IV? i think Capcom had given up on this series. Oh well, sayonara to Ryu and Ken... <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[Crying]" /> <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" />

Ryu and Ken are getting lame anyways. I think they're just stale from being essentially the same without much character development in the past six years.

I don't think Capcom has totally abandoned the concept of making SFIV... they are just taking a break from producing 2D fighters for a while and focus more on their other games like Resident Evil and others.

Give it some time... it took 4 years before SF1 went to SF2, and about 5-6 years from that to go from SF2 to SF3. What's so wrong about waiting a few years before we finally get SF4? If it means a better game that once again revolutionizes video games, then it's worth the wait.

In the meantime, there's plenty of contributions on the SUN/Playmore side that we can definitely take advantage of. And if SNK vs. Capcom does come out by the end of this year as scheduled, we'll still get another game with the ol' Capcom bunch.

Maybe Capcom milked all the shit they could out of SF. Naaaa, I think we will end up seeing another freakin title. Look at Megaman, that stuff will never stop.

It would be 2 years or more if we ever want to see a new SF game again. But then, who knows what is the status of 2d fighters at that time.Capcom might even kill SF and focus on their 3d games such as RE,devil may cry, onimusha and many others.I hope that is not the case.
It will be a long while if capcom decides to make a brand new SF game.

Look in the manual for CVS2 on DC. Its in Japanese, but the phrase "2D will never die" is there. Nuff said.

oh but when SF4 does come out it will be followed by so many upgrades that you'll be sick of it again.

I'd rather be spammed buy sub par sf's than have none, for all you who think they should give up the sf series.

capcom is just probly taking their time in creating a brand new street fighter and going to see what the other companies come up with you never know they will sooner or later realese a weapons based fighter to compete with guilty gear xx.you never know until capcom says any thing about it.it wil probly be a couple of years before street fighter 4 and i think they are going to realese a marvel vs. capcom 3 before that since marvel vs. capcom 2 is such a big hit in the arcades for the past 2 years

Capcom said after the release of CvS2 that they were going to take a two-year hiatus from the genre. I hope that perhaps this time will be used to create something truly revolutionary.
Most likely not though. I could sure go for a from the ground up-new SF4 that picks up where Third Strike left off. That's one of their most underrated fighters ever.

I thought Capcom's contract with Marvel was over, and there wouln't be a MVC3. I might (hope) I'm wrong though as that series is pretty fun. Anyway I am awaiting Street Fighter 4 as Street Fighter is one of my favorite series'. I wonder will this one have returning charcters like Blanka? Or will it have upgraded looks for new characters like Remy and add in a few new characters. I don't know how much more it's possible to make a major change to this series without ruining the classic gameplay though.

Eh, whatever. I'd much rather see Last Blade 3 and Fatal Fury 8 than SF4. SF3 was lame compared to the latest SNK installments.

SFIII is in no way lame. Compare it to the "latest SNK installments" if you will, but is it really possible to do so?

I remember hearing 0that SFIII was the last actual SF when it came ou t, but I couldn't possibly ever believe that.

As a fighting game SF3 is barely average. But when compared to the Alpha series, and any SNK fighter with the exceptions of the AOF series and Kabuki Klash, its just garbage.

These the same people who could count to 8 on Megaman but took forever to count to 3 on Street Fighter.

OG SF3 and 2nd Impact, maybe. But Third Strike is one of the finest fighters Capcom has ever produced. It's hella balanced (save for perhaps Chun-Li), and is a vintage example of why Capcom is still one of the finest game companies around. Don't hate it until youve spent serious time with it people. It has a wicked learning curve though, which may be why so many scrubs are turned off by it.

I would have to respectfully disagree, Street Fighter 3 is not "barely average", and is no way garbage compared to the latest installments in the SNK series. Street Fighter 3 presented an excellent fighting engine that was a major upgrade in pace and required alot more skill than the previous Street Fighers. The animation in Street Fighter 3 was also excellent imo. The only thing that the old games did better was music. Street Fighter 3 is an excellent game imo, but everyone will have their own opinion.

Third Strike was one of my favorites on DC but the game wasn't balanced at all... the characters I mean. Ryu and Ken are so overpowered when Kooler characters such as Yang are weak little babies. His rassin mahaken or whatever its called is strong but Ryu's shoryuken super is hella stronger.

Actually, if you look around for tiers on SF3, you'd notice that Yang is one of THE best chars in the game. Anyone can basically win with anyone in SF3, as long as they know how to play the character. (Eddie Lee's Ibuki is a great example)

Garbage? SF3 was DEEP.
Let's see, Garou can really compare to SF3. If you say SF3 is garbage, then I assume you think the same of Garou for their similarities?
SF3 is one of my favorite fighting games along with Garou and many others, but I don't think you can even compare it to the Alpha series and say it's garbage.
Sounds like blindly bashing something to me.

SF3:third strike makes alpha 3 look like a genesis game. And it whoops alpha 3 in the gameplay area too.SF3 is indeed capcom's finest fighter.

They can change a LOT of things, if they can release a new SF with a minium of beneficts instead a sold the same product and a upgrade for the fans..., a SF in 3D are well so Capcom have the tecnology and the gameplay ...., is the gameplay and the characters they can change to their SF EX series (I like this series a lot but many others, 2D single minded, hate it...) a couple of new characters are well and kicks Shoto clones and left the most important.

I think you were using Yang wrong. I've got combos with Yun and Yang that do good damage and are flashy looking as well. Yang isn't weak at all. And I don't mean to burst your bubble but Ryu isn't what you are saying he is. Ken even is in a Higher tier than Ryu. Ryu is good but not that good in Street Fighter 3. Street Fighter 3 is quite balanced. And if balance is what most of you are griping about then why in the hell do you even play King of Fighters? Can you say "Clark"?

Hey Jay, i can't believe you are hating on Street Fighter 3 like that!! That was an Awesome game man! Oh well, what else can you expect from a Rock Howard and Benimaru fan :D <img src="graemlins/makeface.gif" border="0" alt="[Make Face]" /> :D <img src="graemlins/makeface.gif" border="0" alt="[Make Face]" />
