what the story to Ikari Warriors?

I was looking thought SNK games when I saw Ikari Warriors, and I looked at some screen shot, and it has some Ranbo looking charecter shooting people. Is that guy like Heidern in his younger years or someone else? Whats the story line to the game? and how is the game?

P1 is in control of Ralf, P2 for Clark.

You basically move, turn, and fire stuff.

I do not believe there is a story in Ikari 1 and Vicotry Road, but in Ikari 3, Heidern orders Ralf and Clark to rescue a child.

Man. Ralf looks alot bigger in Ikari Warriors then he does in KOF.

I remember playing Ikari Warriors on the NES back in 89 or something like that. I strongly think that SNK just needed to get 2-3 army guys to form a team and Ikari was just the right game to do it. I also noticed a striking resemblance between Clark and Arnold in Predator, is it just a coincidence or is KOF's Clark based on Arnold himself?

I can actually answer this question. You see in Japan the game was Ikari Warriors and had the ppl we know as Ralf and Clark... Heidern and the others weren't centered on at the time SNK programmed the arcade way back when, and more to the point Leona was probably a wee tyke if not an infant.

Back to the question at hand though... The American version for the NES stated that two soldiers who's names were changed to Paul and Vince (go figure) were apart of an SF group who gets shot down and must fight their way out of the country of Ikari (a generic Vietnam I'm figuring) and that to survive you must destroy the enemy army leading up to the enemy general comandeering tanks and helicopters. Exactly where Heidern is is beyond me, but really, at the time SNK just needed something to get their name out and a Rambo like game was the mid 80's answer to what violence induced gamers like myself were looking for.

Heidern actually made his debut in the intro to Ikari 3

Which version of Ikari III... the arcade or the Famicom/NES? I ask this about Heidern because I don't remember anyone resembling him in the arcade intro but do remember a beret wearing bad ass in the Fami version... only problem is is that that same beret wearing dude appears in the Famicom/NES version on SNK's other game P.O.W. and in the home version that guy's name is Snivel... but then the home version of P.O.W. changed the main characters name from Snake to Bart... damn now I'm just all confused.
