Capcom/SNK similarities

While many people on this board debate about how good one company is to the other I have always seen similarities in the two companies mainstream games in terms of the characters.
For example I noticed in Capcom vs. SNK series that Ryo is sort of Ryu except for minor things like the way Ryo does his dragon punch and the way Ryo throws his hadoken. Ryu does his hadoken with two hands while Ryo does it with one. Ryu does the dragon punch with his right arm while Ryo does it with his left arm.
Even the characters Sakura and Yuri mimic that above two characters.

Anybody else have any opinions?

look at all the similarities between third strike and garou........

new characters similar to older ones that have disappeared.
master and apprentice.....ken with sean terry with rock and the rest
long haired, skinny, odd fighters...remy freeman
the parry and just defend
grading battles
very good animation
both play like their from different series than the originals
brothers........yang yun, jae hoon dong hwan
dark fighters.....akuma, grant
sub bosses
bonus fighters(need certain requirements to fight)......q, kain
decreased playable characters compared to previous games from SNK and CAPCOM
blond final boss
boss relations with a playable character...... gill & urien kain & rock
probably way more.........

I wouldn't call the Rival Schools series crappy. It's one of the few 3D fighters I do enjoy playing.

Maybe because kof has such awful character desings(not to mention boring)
hooooo.... and don't let me get started with those STUPID history lines and did I mentioned the crappy balance in the characters( try this: choose the main character and uppercut or middle punch you opp till' death trust me it always works)
Guess ppl like that the main character has priority over the others. If you go to a turnament all you'll see is: Kyos, Ioris, K's, Ralphs and Clarks <img src="graemlins/shame.gif" border="0" alt="[Shame]" /> ppl are shitty <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" /> <img src="graemlins/shame.gif" border="0" alt="[Shame]" />

I'm gonna have to disagree with you vishema.
At least the KOF storyline and history changed with each year. And the bosses changed also.
I like Street Fighter but for crying out loud how many fucking times do I have to constantly fight Bison or Akuma. I was happy with fact that Gill was the new boss for Street Fighter 3.

Again look at the Street Fighter series. There were main characters who always held priority over the others. Ryu,Ken,Chun-li,Guile,and Akuma always had priority over everyone. I mean what are the chances that you'll see someone at a tournament use say E. Honda? or maybe Dhalsim?

Thanks for the encouragement about Mei. People view her as either a Sakura-like fanatic or a Kamen/Masked Rider type sentai or maybe both.

I said "conversions" meaning 2d games that became(converted) 3d like Street Fighter EX and Fatal Fury Wild Ambition. I'm not talking about already existing 3d games.

May Lee's personality is that of a brainwashed fighter. Her win quotes sound like she is fighting because she thinks its right. Or perhaps Kim is just using her. Justice's Slave is more
like it.

Yes damn,SNK begans to ripoff Ryo (not Robert) that it´s a shoto clone different using the same tecnics that the all boring,(in actually) not in the mighty days of SF, a least SNK changes the characters for (bad or god), every year or a least changes but the fucking characters of SF have the same tecniques since SF2, the old shoto men have the same arsenal since 1989 or 1986?,I didn´t play SF, respect for the ensence of SF? Not, lazyness.... Eh it explain the future conversions of the re-resident evil..
