That baby could be Mai's baby brother and Andy's future Kopoken student, Hokutomaru from Garou, so 2001 could be the Mark of the Wolves.

Haven't gotten to play KoF 2001
yet, but that could be another of SNK's joke. The big running gag with those two is that they never seem to quite "get together." Think back and remember their intro from KoF '99, and also Andy's RB2 ending.
