As great as the kof series is, everyone has a pick for the worst kof (in their opinion). Personally, my pick is 95. I keep on hearing how it's great and everything, but i think it kinda sux. The damage you take is pretty bad and i just don't like it. I'm sure someone will disagree, but it's just my opinion, Later

for me i don't quite like 99 cos of the toning down of some fighters and certain fighters's good combos have been axed(blue mary..can't combo her stand HP->fwd+LP into a mary dynamite swing).99 also didn't have the orochi team and daimon.i like k' in 99.

there are certain aspects of 2 of the kof games that I dont like in kof 98 I think the winning screenshot is crap and lifeless and there are no mid game sequences,only a few rounds to win and no boss team,just rugal who you can even use so hes not really a boss although his intro and background are awesome and makes the game worth getting to him.the other is kof 96 because I think the backrounds are pretty lame,after gameplay I always count on great backgrounds and this just didnt have it for me so I say 96 is the worst,I love 99 though,nice mid game sequences,nice endings if you complete with a formed team and the backdrops especially in the park with the wind and rain and just mouthdropping <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">We are all entitled to our own opinion,only children dont understand this!!! not in the mood to flame

The series didn't get good until '97. 94, 95, and 96 are all mediocre at best.

KoF96-boss team(This is the best part of 96)
KoF97-Orochi
KoF98-Rugal
KoF99-Krizalid
KoF00-Zero(K' fucking rules this game)

KoF94 was the start...I love nostalgic games, and this is the best example of nostalgia at its best.

i haven't played 96, 94, 95, so i can't completely say.

Personally 97 just didnt get me. Although back in 94, when I first bought KoF94 before I even played it I thought it was cheap compared to Samurai Showdown 2. Just in overall presentation and thickness. I wound up writing EGM and they published my letter. What was their response??
My question was "Is this the new face of SNK's games now that the CD has debuted and games are cheaper??" and their response was "Do you like the game or not? whats yer point?" --EGM

So I never got my question answered and as a result I got used to future games not being as full as Samurai Showdown 2.
My least fav. KoF though,. . . 97.

KOF 96 is my least favorite. Lack of combo variety there. KOF97 is still the best(After all, edit team endings and storyline beats the rest of KOF(except 98 which tweaks the gameplay) KOF97 is the fastest KOF game. KOF96 is the slowest. =p
