Key characters

Right I need some help here; I'm designing a set of King of Fighters inserts for MVS shock boxes, but I'm not overly clued up on who the 'key' characters are for each game. I want to theme each design around the main character for each title, whether it be a popular new-comer, boss or whatever. Can anybody help me out with a list of key characters for each game, from 94 right through to 2001?

Yeah I've seen them but I'm designing my own set. Come on, sum1 help me out with the characters here?

* '95 - Iori
* '96 - Leona or Goenitz
* '97 - Orochi
* '98 - ? Can't decide
* '99 - K'
* 2k - Kula or Zero
* 2k1 - Hmmm...Maybe Igniz

Ok, if I was making inserts this is who I would put on the covers. Mainly I chose the characters that are the most important to the story and look cool.

94- heroes team
95- kyo and iori
96- boss team, leona, and iori
97- new face team
98- random characters (the aes cover is so rad, a kof pool party)
99- k'& maxima
2000- ??
2001- nests team
