Level 8 on single play - 4 rounds against kriz - 1st two are fine; kriz is still wearing his coat, 2nd two - No idea, I've saved a state in neo rage and gone at him for two hours straight, still can't beat the fucker in 3 straight rounds. C'mon he's so easy with Ryo and Kyo but he just doesn't like Iori at all. Gimmie some sure fire tactics, lemme abuse his A.I... Anything to kill him Kyoooooooooooooo!

When he's in the corner, do this:

Jump C, B, fwd A, Deadly Flower repeat. It's pretty cheap, but once you hit it once, he hardly ever fights back.

Chip him to death with crossover back + B,Standing B,qcf + A(x3)

If he's in the corner you can also do this to him as well as Oro's tactic.Standing B->forward + A(optional)->qcb + A(x3).Most of the time he will block all of them except for the last hit of the Deadly Flower(the comp is so stupid they don't block high)

Hmmm... But when I jump he does his uppercut or worse his explosive DM so are you sure these tactics work on level 8 Kriz ?

Well the one I mentioned works.I have done that heaps of times.

If Krizalid isn't in the corner just do Standing B->qcb + A(x3)

not sure if this is useful at all...
its easily done on lower difficulty levels, i haven't tried it on the higher ones yet... maybe if you could test it?

btw, whose your striker?

seeing as you've only got a savestate the following info will most likely be useless to you (unless you die and continue) the way i beat Krizalid with only block damage off a perfect. (using unlimited striker/power stocks, but if you use it right...)

using Striker Shingo: (requires a stiker bomb and a power stock)
Call Shingo, and when he runs out, do Iori's qcf x 2 + K. as long as Krizalid blocks Shingo's dive, (you should see a block spark) the move/bug should work, and Krizalid will be caught by Iori, who will then follow through with the rest of the tsumagushi.

it's not the best of plans, (i think i counted 5 cons) but try it if your bored.

Oh yeah I forgot about that one.If you got 3 power stocks go into Counter Mode and just keep on doing this

qcf + C,qcf + D(cancelled into from his fireball). If his near the corner you might want to change the qcf + D into a qcf + B since he travels less distance

i found that throwing fireballs at timed intervels helps unless he does the short range typhoon which reflects the projectile.it works in Lv8 too.i've tried it.be careful with krizalid's dashing attack though.

Instead of doing the crossover B (which Kriz counters 99.9% of the time with his DP + P) do this:

Find a way to knock him down, then keep about half a character's distance from him.

Then do fwd + A, QCB + P x 3. NEVER do the Stand B in front of his face. It's suicide. He'll nail you with either his throw (which is unescapable and has priority over almost anything) or his DP + P. With the fwd + A, because Iori fwd + A reaches so far, you'll be safe and the A.I. will be too stupid to defend against it.

Also if he begins cheezing you with the tornado kick, try predict when he's gonna do the next one, and roll right before you think his next one will come out. 50% of the time Krizalid will attempt to either do that rushing grab thing or the rushing grab DM. If you roll early enough, he'll end whiffing and you'll block it. If it's the rushing grab, because you get pushed back so far, the only thing that'll counter it will be Iori's QCB + A x 3 - notice, A version now. After you knock'em down you can begin the cheezing process.

If he does his DM, be prepared to either GRAB him or counter with a FAST normal. His DM is just like Vanessa's cheap rush DM. If you don't retaliate right after you block it, Krizalid will be able to grab you (just like Vanessa the ()#@ can do after her DM whiffs).

Other tactics - send in a striker. Any striker that forces Krizalid into a block position for a long time will work. Most of the time Krizalid is too stupid to counter you when you call your striker. If you use a long-lasting striker like - say - Yuri, send her in when you're in close range, if he fails to block it, good, you can do a DM then run after him and cheeze him. If he blocks it, jump at him and do a jump-in attack, preferably his jumping A or C. Krizalid's pretty stupid because he blocks a majority of your attacks low (even though he doesn't have the animation frames for it), so when you try to do the last hit of Iori's Deadly Flowers (which is an ovehead) he'll get hit.

Also, if you space yourself correctly try to hyper jump over him. Compared to Kyo, Iori's hyper jump is slow, but if you get lucky, half the time he'll try to DP + P you but will whiff (because he DPs the wrong way). This should be your opportunity to counter him.

I've played Krizalid thousands of times so I can tell you these tactics are fairly reliable. If you're desperate, use Hebretto's Counter Mode tactic. Kinda boring way to win but it'll get you that first victory against this cheap bastard.

These tactics don't work against the level 8 PSX or DC version or Krizalid. They fixed his blocking bugs in those games.

Well, my way still works, I tested it on my PSX today. The only difficult part is to hit him once with the combo. Once hit, he'll just fall for it over and over again.

Pretty cheesy if I say so myself.

there is a way.first CD,then do the deadly flower.he will always fall for the last hit of the deadly flower.keep repeating.don't even care whether he block it or not just keep doing the cd then deadly flower immediately.

Is it just me or does Iori's Maiden Masher SDM not work properly against Krizalid? I would've had the match one but no, stupid bug.

Kriz is one of the cheapest bosses ever, almost as bad as Omega Rugal was in '98!
