A guy a play regularly with has the scariest Iori I've ever seen. I'll bet everyone has seen all the Iori tricks but have u ever seen a Iori run up to you -> short hop crossover B -> short hop crossover B -> sB/hcb,f+B.

The short hop crossover is the shit. yeah you can easily knock him out of it but look at the speed of the freaking short hop. It is freaking fast. Iori can easily mix up with sB or his scum gale. There are so many freaking options and all of them are low risk.

What's worse is that he mixes his short hops, sBs and scum gales very well. I've been playing his Iori since 98 and he just gets better. A defensive Iori is cheap but an offensive iori is a nightmare. 2 1/2 combos and u're dead. 99 Iori is not as scary because its much easier to escape the short hop crossover. However the sB, scum gale is still hard to escape.

Anyone met this type of iori b4? Or do you play this style? Any tips or strategies. When I meet his Iori i have to play kiasu and let him play to my rythm and hope it lasts the round because Iori can easily comeback with 2 combos.

Those Iori's supposed to be typical; All HongKong peeps play like that, same with Kyo/Kim... In 2000, just send striker or roll and your problem is over.

The scariest Iori that I have ever seen isn't as bad as what you described though the scariest that I have ever seen is Iie-Kyos Iori.

I've seen many hk players mix up short hop B and cB but not short hop crossover B. Iori's hop crossover is really weakened in 99/2k. If I'm not mistaken, Kim's jumping A can cross over.... hmmmmm

You want to see something really scary?Try Ralf's Jump B in 2000

But really, some Iori players here mix crossover back + Bs and crouching Bs _pause_ hcb,f + A/C but it's rarely used for most of us play 2000

I would suggest for you to back roll if your opponent does the crouching B

My friend plays with Iori the way u guys r saying.I agree the worst Iori is of 98 though the 97 Orochi version is just too much. But why the f _ _ k does SNK keep weakening Iori? I mean look at Kyo,that SOB improves every year,so why not Iori? It's just not fair.Don't u people agree? If Iori is given equal priority then he can really kick Kyo's ass.

I don't see alot of Kyo/Iori players on KOF2000 anymore. But it doesn't matter if Iori is weakened because if your well enough you can beat anyone with the low-tier characters

Anyone here plays a mean-ass Choi or Hinako or Yuri?

I totally agree. For some reason Iori was a very feared fighter in '95 and '96, but when people started to get used to '97, no-one started to use him much anymore.... Its true that Kyo can destroy Iori nowadays..... <IMG SRC="smilies/crying.gif" border="0">

Why koolking, I'm flattered.

I play a mix between offense and defense on my opponent. This doesn't work very well in 2000 but in '98 and '99 it's killer. Once you manage to get a combo down on him, you can do all that HK crap on your opponent.

I learned about the hyper short hop crossover bk + B when I accidentally did it on the computer in '98 while I was playing one of those single cabinet machines. I didn't know that Iori could pull off such a deadly tactic. Spent a lotta time in practice mode perfecting the timing for this thing.

Now I can rip apart turtlers with this ability because they never expect an Iori to hop right over their heads just to kick'em in the back o their necks.

Don't try this on the computer though, the computer's way too smart to let you hyper hop over their crouching forms...
