Original teams and Orginal Skill

I really want to know if I am alone here. I personally love the story line in KOF. Even the funky NESTS story had some charm. But my point is this: I really enjoy using original teams in KOF. I have a hard time picking a team that looks funky. I see so many people picking wierd teams like Kyo Chang Clark and Vannessa. What I really hate is when they leave out a character entirely like team Ralf Clark Whip and striker Joe. ARGFGGGGGG. I started playing back in 94 when all you could play as were original teams. I played the Brazil team. Ever since they have been my favorite team and my main team. I was determined to get good with them. I was never concered if they were TOP Tiers or whatever the fuck. I loved Heiderns style and even in 98 when they watered alot of his moves down (especially his chop <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[Crying]" /> ) and his team along with him. Even though I didnt love Whips moves I still used her cause she was part of the team. My other point is that I really believe that characters should be played as they were meant to be and as a team because I feel that thats how they are balenced. Sure I have some edited teams my self. I dont think its wrong. I just see way to many people dropping characters year from year cause "Vanessa lost her super combos" or " K's flame knocks the guy down" or " Terry doesnt have his power charge" etc. What happened to loving the characters and playing them for who they are not how awsome there combos are. I feel that using your skill and ambition can make a character awsome. Not cause they have great pokes anti airs and easy comboability... Hell maybee I am just an ass...

Well well well.Nice to see someone here who shares my point of view.I agree with you dude but u see it becomes neccessary sometimes to put away the love and just bust your opponents ass with the strongest team u can use.I mean u can't afford to lose everytime right.

If i always used the original team,I will feel boring like hell.....
They used the same way of fighting style and sometimes the same signature moves.........
Thats why I love to used custom team ....
They more variable and more effective on your game play........

hmmm, am i the only one in here to use the korean team from 94 to present??

I started playing SNK games with the first fatal fury and i loved the characters so now i only like to play with them, i play with the other teams to see the endings but normally i only play with the garou team.

Good to know I am not alone. Point well taken polnareef. That is why I have some edited teams but I try to keep a cool flow between them. Ex: Kyo Iori Shingo K. Or Vannessa, Seth, Lin K.

When ever I want to learn a new character I always use their whole team ,

And the original teams had a better "feeling" than some mashed up "All-Stars" team, In my humble opinion, the Kyokugen team kicks ass

I like the Ikari team, I can just use Clark to kill the whole enemy team...

Yeah, I agree with a lot of you guys n' gals; I started playing Neo games with Fatal Fury 1. Me and my friends were deep into Special when we first discovered KOF '94 (thank you DIEHARD GAMEFAN... and now defunct magazine). Since I was already so good with Terry, Andy, and Joe, I was a natural with the team. I've been using them ever since. Over the years I learned to like Kyo, Iori, K', and a few others, but my main team is the entire Fatal Fury team (no matter who the fourth memeber is... as in Mai and Mary).

I like the team concept because I like stories but I also like having the option to mix teams up.

Now if only I was actually better at the game...

That tier crap pisses me off too. Everybody wants to pick who is "top tier". I just use whoever. i edit some teams and use some set teams. All that tier stuff doesn't settle down with me, i use who i like.

Oh yeah and its good to see another Heidern user! I get told time and time again by people that Heidern is low or middle tier and he sux yet after they hear the phrase "go to hell" they dont say it anymore, heh. I'll use Heidern til the day I die because I like his style.

I use original team when I play the computer. its more fun, and you feel theres a bond between the characters. Plus it makes the game harder and more challenging, because not all of the characters is very strong on the same team.

But I always use EDIT when playing in the Arcades or with my Friends, you wanna bust them up good with you best guys.
