Armor Mode for KOF2001

I was just thinking about this the other day. In Vampire Savior, if you were to activate Lei-Lei's darkforce, you would gain autoguard at the expense of loosing the ability to block. So it got me to thinking; Armor mode in KOF2K lasted longer than it did in KOF99 and chances are it will return for KOF2001 (Much to my dismay!). Anyway to the question at hand; should Armor mode in KOF2001 come at the cost of being able to block. I feel it would make armor mode less abusive if people knew they lost their blocking ability when using it.

Your idea intrigues me. It would be an interesting trade-off, sort of like how Counter Mode won't let you do SDM's under any circumstance, no matter how bad a way your character happens to be in at the time.

Maybe even have characters whose taunts can do some damage (just a tick, ala Chun-Li and Sakura--unless you want an EX3 Sakura Meteor Combo-style taunt that does 80% damage <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">).

It would actually make more sense for Armor mode to act in this fashion. This way, people couldn't just get three meters, activate it and play the ungodly turtle role for aboyt 10-15 seconds. This would also take out some of the sting for those Chang users, as now they won't have the ability to block.

Counter mode should be something more like MAXed from KOF '98... a limited time where you could do one super (regular or SDM), can dish out and take extra damage, and maybe a little boost in speed. It just doesn't seem right giving the characters unlimited super abilities... thus taking the sting out of some of the projectile happy DM characters.
