I love that old drunken fool... He's actually got some decent moves. That gourd crap is pretty useful... and the... (I'm not sure of any of the move names) druken charge move is nifty-keen, also...

His special drunken charge (Thundering somethinkg?) is very nice.... Does quite a bit of damage...

He's a hilarious character to watch and play as... Is he in KoF2000? What about Evo. for the DC?

(I am pretty much a KoF beginner...Pity me....)

Chin is ok, his moves are unorthodox but good if you want to screw with an opponent's head (What? He can't lie down in the middle of the fight! WTF?)

Just take a look at the picture and you'll see what I think of him...

I welcome ANYONE who thinks that Chin sucks to come to New Jersey one day so I can show you just how good he really is. Chin, in no means, doesn't suck at all. In fact, he's one of the trickiest characters in KOF. Unfortunately, being proficient with him requires work... more work than doing traditional Kyo, Iori or K' combos... so that's why people think he "sucks".

If you're looking for a start, check out the FAQ I did for Chin in KOF '98 on GameFAQs.

i really hate that old, withered dickhead chin.i mean hes probably the cheapest fighter in the game with unorthodox moves and insane priorities.i also hate the way the CPU plays with him especially in 98'.Any human player who mastered him is a threat to me.

The druken monkey is among my favorite fighters. Unlike most of the masses; I don't have a problem with the old man. I love the old master types usually and I always look forward to learning a different style of playing; helps make one unpredictible; especially if you incorporate that style with characters people wouldn't normally expect that from. Plus combos aren't everything to me anyways.

chin is da coolest fighter & one of my top5 main char to be use in kof. mostly his moves are mind games. it can also piss ppl off so easy.

best moves? his ground sleep thingy that goes backward when awake, rolling foward counter attack (weak) & his bursting flame SDM.

Ahhh... the beauty of a not-so-typical character.

Being unpredictable is not "cheap"... it just makes you think past the obvious. As for his priorities? Well, maybe with his uppercut move since it has an insane autoguard ability, but everything else he does can be countered... yes, even when he falls on the ground on his back and does his rolling aerial kick. If you think past the standard things in KOF, Chin is actually not that hard of a character to defeat. He has a jump that's too low at times, and his only really effective anti-air is his Flame Belch super.

Long live the drunken warrior!

He's the very definition of the word cheap. Go to the arcades and tell me how many reasonable people (by reasonable I mean they don't always automatically pick Kyo, Iori, K', and the like) pick Chin, or Chang and Choi.

Or better yet, save your time, cause no one will.

Why?

'Cause he sucks.

The diversity of the fighting games is the various and tecnique of many fighters similar to Chin, howemer KOF is longer that the tradicional characters that the people usually pit so Chin is a character for long way to use and very powerful to use correctly .
The last true: Maxima is cooler, tecnical and better than K ( copy of Kyo).

If by now, you can't defeat characters like Chin, Choi or Chang in KOF, then maybe you should look at the flaws in your OWN gaming abilities and not write it off as something being "cheap".

Especially in the case of Chin... the reason why people don't choose him? because he's not as SIMPLE to play as Kyo, Iori, K', or anyone of the supposed "big boys" of KOF. They lack the ability to do something else beyond the standard, so they write it off as being "cheap", or saying that the character "sucks". I probably know more about him than most players around here, so let me know what you think is "cheap" about him and I will help you in getting around it. Anything to help players of the more "obvious" characters continue in their expected winning ways.

I've just gotten started playing Chin in '98, and I love him.

And plenty of "reasonable" people pick Chang. From '98 on (don't know much about '97) he's a top 10 character. Admittedly, having played him a lot myself, he's one of the scrubbiest characters in the series, but he is by no means a "waste of space".

Choi though...I can't stand his personality (same for Chang) and have never gotten how to play him. VinylBoy, you know anything about Lil' Krueger?

Likes Chin and Chang, but loves the Sports Team above all.

I'm really surprised that I didn't take to Choi when I first saw him. I DO know of his amazing potential after seeing an intense KOF '96 video. Literally, Choi is just a walking infinite combo against large characters. If you would have seen some of the combos I saw on this video, any of the large characters couldn't stand a chance!

I just wasn't use to the way he would jump, and I'm not a regular user of charge characters so playing Choi was a bit awkward for me at first. I should practice him more since I have KOF at home, but I've been on a Blue Mary & Kensou kick for a while now.

Chang is an ideal character since he has amazing range with his ball and packs a mean punch. And with his autoguard, it makes fighting against him even worse... but he's still beatable. I agree though... it's way to easy to get wins with a character like this, so i tend to stray away from overly simplistic characters.

And the Sports Team just rules... Lucky Glauber is 'da man!

It has nothing to do with my inability to beat him. The psycho soldier team has never given me any trouble in any of its incarnations through the years (admittedly, the Ikari's did force me to brush up in 99 and 2000, as did as did a local gameplayer's version of the Women's team in 96 and 98). My problem is during gameplay (with the cpu in charge, as I've never played a human who's used Chin), he just does the same moves over and over, and I hate the character. Come on, he's a drunk old guy that passes out! In one of his moves he jumps on you and forces you to drink from his flask! Choi is a hyperactive 50 year old that's the size of a kindergardener, and Chang is a fat guy that hums during a match! What the hell were the designers at SNK smoking when they introduced these guys?

While his AI is cheap, he's an easily beatable character. I just hate the character. That's why I responded in the first place.

"XX is cheap", "XX suck ass big time".

Bah, that's the typical rant about non-conventional character. The most of the player never get interested in use them, since the good and old Kyo/Iori/Beni/Clark/insert-your-usual-char-here always will work.

Choi, Chang, Choi, are very good players, not to be used by the average player. They require more time to get used and even more time to see results (aka win against human players)

Hinako was almost the same, until everyone discovered her long-ass B combo
