The King Of Fighters '84
Legendary Fight

Me and my buddies were talking, and I brought up that a "prequel" KOF would be cool. Having characters like Jeff Bogard, Takuma, Geese, and Tung as some main players. Tho it really would not be a tounament more like a South Town Brawl lol. What do you guys think?

There are soooo many chracters that could be in it. Heidern, Jubei, a young Big Bear, young Krauser maybe with long hair, Mr. Big,
Saisyu, Ralf & Clark. And a whole bunch of new fighters!

O_O Wow... apparently, I'm not the only one who's ever thought of this idea.

Seriously, I would also consider including, in addition to Jeff, Geese, Takuma and Tung, characters like Raiden, Toji Sakata from Wild Ambition, Krauser, a young Yamazaki trying to make a name for himself, possibly Ralf/Clark, maybe Saisyu and maybe Iori's father/cousin/mother... and the CVS2 version of Ryuhaku Todo (with KasaneAte, mid-air KasaneAte, anti-air KasaneAte, command throw, and super KasaneAte )

The backgrounds would have such touches as young Andy and Terry, maybe a young Billy and Lilly Kane in the industrial center with White standing over them, and Cheng and Hon-Fu in Tung's background.

And of course, I would have Rugal in a Nightmare Match. His background would be "The Broken Mirror"--the shattered seal on the Orochi Power. Of course, there would be the touches here--winds going at full blast, Chizuru's sister dead, Chizuru cowering in fear, and Goenitz looking on. He would have the Dead End Screamer as an S-Power and the Gigatec h Pressure as a P-Power.

I thought that the Heavenly Kings (among whom Goenitz stands) didn't "riot"; instead, I always thought they sort of "awakened" to their full potential. I base this assumption on the fact that they don't go muy loco after their blood awakens.

Anyway, maybe Yamazaki and Goenitz are related, or even the same person (bear with me, I saw Fight Club today). Perhaps Yamazaki "looks the way [Goenitz] wants to look."

And now I have an image of Yamazaki selling Cheng at $20 a bar to Sears.

That was a great movie, but they couldn't be the same... after all, Goenitz committed suicide after KOF '96, and Yamazaki is still alive and well.

And what about Richard Meyer? He was getting on in years in the original Fatal Fury, so he'd be in his prime at this point (and it'd put him in another game...).

Come to think of it, Tyler (I mean the Brad Pitt one) did fall over dead towards the end.

I love his last line. "What's that smell...?" *thump*

He died because Norton shot himself through the head. That's a lot different than tearing yourself apart with wind. Norton's wound could be survived, since it went through the side of his head, rather than through the back like it did Pitt's.

Orochi was still sealed then, I'm not sure if Goenitz was awakened yet, and Kyo, Iori, and Benjamaru would all be about Terry and Andy's age (if not younger), so they wouldn't be old enough to fight yet. Remember, in '94, Kyo was one of the youngest fighters there.

I know the seal was broken before '94, because when you face Rugal there, he only has one eye.

Slightly off-topic, one thing you'd definitely have to do for a final boss in KOF'84 (not a typo) is give him an even better final quote than Rugal (I think that "A watery grave awaits you! Farewell!"* is one of the best death-cries ever)

Or, have the guy attempt to use a super-weapon, but it won't fire. Even after he gives a bravado-laced diatribe telling the player to "disintegrate in the light of a brand new world!"

*Mainly because it just seems so out of place, like saying "I'm going to stab you in the stomach! Have a nice day!"

That would be really cool. Although I wonder what SNK would do with the graphics. It would be great to see the character line-up. I am all for the idea!
