how many of you spend most of the time playing against the ai and the practise mode, than playing against human opponents?
just curious.
playing against the stupid ai too much is what makes one suck at kof.

I have no choice but playing against the AI as none of my friends like KOF. Old 2D crap! That's their discription of Neo Geo games. But State of Emergency is "Awesome" to them. Sad isn't it.

Most of the time I play against a 2nd player. I find sometimes the AI isn't to hard to beat. However, that isn't always the case.

doesnt north america got kof machines in the arcades?

perhaps you people should play online, since most of you own a neogeo.
the dumb ai will make you worse...
it makes you fight in the same damn pattern and do dm/sdm even you know you wont hit the opponent.

The last Neo Geo fighter in an arcade in my area was Samurai IV; and that was 3 yrs ago.

After playing V.G., V.G. II, V.G. Custom, & V.G. Max on my PC, there's no way in hell I'm bothering with playing KOF or any other arcade fighter online.

Personally, I've gotten better playing against the cpu. And after playing people in games like Tekken, SF, & Capcom's Vs titles, I seriously doubt I'd get any better. I still lose to the fireball traps and any cheap strategies regardless. I play for fun, so the cpu is fine with me.

AI too. I don't remember the last time I saw someone who liked the Neo in my neighborhood. 3D infested people here... Nothing against 3D personally but I have a serious problem with people who can't recognize a good game no matter what platform or dimensions.

Well i think that sometime real competition comes from real people... the AI i think is just for practice.. cause you know sooner or later you can beat the AI no stop and it gets boring... And the People can also become better so they can be a challange to some point.. <img src="graemlins/veryangry.gif" border="0" alt="[Very Angry]" />

agree,
the ai are like dummies for you to practise combos
the point is ai isnt challanging at all

i tried playing online it works good no lags only some ds.

I gave up playing people in the arcades after finding out that all the trash they talk about being the best in CvS2, tekken tag/4, and MvC2 was wrong. The A.I. fought and lasted longer then they did

Unfortunately I do mostly play against the A.I. It sucks cuz I wanna get better at KOF but I can't help but stay average or below average. It was like that when I played Tekken also but when i found out we had some regionally ranked players in my area i played them alot and now i'm a force to be reckoned with, too bad they don't have any real good KOF players here. I do have some friends that play but they are no real threat.

i'll just have to stick to being below average. Maybe when i got in the military they'll send me to japan then i'll be an evil bastard.

I think i play the practice mode most of all. Usually i try out alot of combinations and try to make them many times in a row. Then i switch to AI and practice the combos on them. I play against my brother sometimes, but he has no higher passion for the game and don´t spend alot of time with it, which makes it all to easy for me.

I don't play against the cpu anymore because it is too predictable. When I play my KOF games, I practice combos and moves; I try to find new combos in KOF2000 with strikers and such.

But most of the playing time is spent challenging other players. Fighting against the cpu, even Level-8, will greatly reduce your kof skills, given the fact that you're a good player already. Fighting the cpu is cool when you're a novice or a beginner. It allows you to discover the game. But that's all.

For the longest time I've played against the AI but fourtunatly me and a few buds get together at least one or 2 times a week to play some neo. AI is cool and helps you learn how to play the games and get some combos, timing down and such on a new game, but you cant really experience any fighter until you play 2P. Just that simple. Besides the 3 people I play with, everybody else I know wouldnt recognize a good game, 2D or 3D if ran over them with a semi. I really lothe mainstream american gamers. The next time I hear somebody say they read a review of a game and then decided that they were not going to get it because the guy who wrote the review on gamefaqs said it was stupid...I'll. UGH! I'm done ranting.
