Return of the U.S.A Sports team

Not getting much popularity I would like to see the USA Sports team improve greatly and return but alter the line-up a bit. Heavy D! and Lucky can stay, but Brian may have to go.
Maybe if they get some good characters they don't have to be called the U.S.A sprts team anymore. This is only a thought,I realy think they may come back ( They already appeared in the first Dream Match) although I love to see teams or cahracters who've been M.I.A, but return with a force to be reckoned with. Maybe if this team could do that they could stay for another tournament.

I'd like it if they returned........ if Duck King led them, it would be really cool Breakdancing is almost a sport

Yeah, Duck (Captain) Heavy D, Lucky and a BAseball player. (or Brian)

I prefer a baseball player to brian, or if DUCK can't make the cut a baseball player should be drafted. Then all 4 famous US sports are Utilised.

I say Heavy D and Brian stay and kick out Lucky. Common Brian's got that command throw thingy (qcb + A/C -> qcb + A/C -> qcb + A/C etc) and Heavy D's got all his Crouching Bs into Crouching A (Crouching B x6 -> Crouching A -> fwd + A -> move). Compared to Lucky who throws basketball after basketball (reminds me of Athena and Bao)

Hey, that's why I like Lucky.

Seriously, keep all of them. Brian's already got a shitload of crossup combos that hurt like hell. They need to give him an actual command throw, and they need to make his air throw super useful. Heavy D!'s fine as it is, and Lucky really needs some more combos to add to his great keep-away.

And I second the motion of adding Duck. He's deserved to be in a KoF for a loooong time now.

Too bad the Sports team is dead... the only way the can come back is in a Dream Match, like '98. Is 2001 really going to be a Dream Match? I heard it was going to continue the story, and they were possibly getting a new main character (but keeping K' in the line up, of course).

I forgot to explain the dead part... I read Iori (and possibly Billy and Eiji) killed them prior to the '95 tournament, but I don't think they're really dead.. after all, in the women's team stage in '95, Duck King (yet another reson to put him n the team) and Heavy D were at a table hanging out in the background.

They're not dead, but there are some background stories to why they never returned. In 95, I heard Brian's team went to the playoffs and they really needed him to fight, so the invitation was passed on to Iori's team, Heavy D! is just probably hanging out have some friendly drinks. In 96 Iori was so important to the story that there were no openings for the U.S.A sports team or they just decided not enter. Finally in 97 they were going to enter since Iori killed his teammates and there openings for at least two more teams but Chirs, Yashiro, and Shermie arrived in Harlem, beat them up stole their invitations, and took their stage to fight in. Of course they probably felt that KOF wasn't for them or probably decide to quit KOF altogether. This is only a theory: For 99 and 2000 they were probably going to enter but they had to get a fourth teammate and then NEST probably approached them with Kyo clones or something and tried to divert them away from the tournament.

Interesting, Shimitar. I think I read some KoF Fanfiction aa while back regarding that scenario with Yashiro's team. By the way, you said Harlem. I thought their stage was in California because of the Golden Gate bridge in their background in KoF 94 and 98.

I guess one of the main reasons I liked the Sports Team was because of how underestimated they were. In storylines and fanfiction, I hear that they weren't taken seriously as fighters. Who would, really, when each member was known more for their sport than their fighting skills. It's that underdog mentality that I always favored in the characters I pick in fighting games. If someone says "That character sucks", then that's the first one I'll use.

After a while, I racked up a pretty good amount of wins with the Sports Team in KoF94 when it was in the arcades here. Showed a lot of folks how effective that team could be.

That's the brooklyn bridge I believe,Arjay.
Since New York is the largest city of the U.S.A. SNK probably chose this as there fighting turf.

I was wondering, they should make a World wrestling/judo/sumo type team. Raiden, Daimon, Hinako, and impossible but I hope it was worth mentioning Muscle Power.

I'd actually like to see the sports team, with Rick Strwod added in.

Now, as for the whole "why weren't they in the other KOF's", in '95 Iori's team beat them up and took their invitations. I don't know about '96, but in '97 Yashiro's team beat them up and took their invitations. I don't know about '99, but in 2000 they didn't even qualify (there's a picture of Ramon about to beat Heavy D, with Vanessa cheering, and Lucky pointing up, trying to warn Heavy D). So, there ya have it. They're not "dead", and they have a chance to appear in another KOF game.

I always liked Luck Glauber in 94 and 98 I was not a big fan of Heavy D and Brian Battler, but there is a bunch of characters who I am not super big on. I can see there place in the game though, and would like to see the return and be better characters. I think the more the merrier. I do think adding a baseball player would fit in better (how about the young hero from turfmasters his club attack could be powerful), but I think duck king also does deserve a postion.

Seriously, Duck King would be pretty cool, or a young Kevin Rian.

I think it would be bad-ass to see Heavy D! in a future installment of the Capcom vs SNK series. Imagine him and Vanessa in a team!

-Or how about KoF Special? Duck King would fit in perfect there, since he appears mainly in Fatal Fury Special games...

How about Duke, Ryu, and Billy (from Burning Fight) and Success Joe? They'd be just as good as the sprots team, with just as much personality.

The reason they're not allowed back in? In 94, they beat down everybody so bad, that they were never invited back.
