New Generation Team

Here's a thought:
How about a new generation of fighters team or a team of former strikers. The strikers I am talking about in particular are:
Syo Kirishima
Alfred
Gai Tendou
Li Xiangfei
Kang Baedal
They would form a team a new generation fighters who feel they can hang with the big boys of KOF. Since all of them are pretty young. Maybe the team could be like this:
Syo Kirishima - friend, rival, relative of Kyo. He can use flame either because he is able to, or Saisyu had a sister or brother who married a Kirishima but passed on the Kusanagi bloodline to Syo.
Gai Tendou - Wants to prove to Ryo maybe, that he can defeat Kyokugenryu karate, he befriends with Syo and joins his team.
Alfred - He meets Terry in Southtown and begins to admire Terry as a great opponent, but he never got to prove Terry his true fighting spirit, so he joins KOF to prove to everyone his power.
Li Xiangfei - Being left out of KOF 2000 she joins this team since there are no openings for the ladies team.
or Kang Baedal - I think Choi and Chang are never going to leave the Korea Team so I feel Kang should be one of those I-don't-like-Kim-I-am-going-to-show-you-the-true- powers-of-Tae Kwon Do type of fighter. Or just a Tae Kwon Do expert who was part of Kim's school.
*As for Chris, Yashiro, and Shermie they should also return maybe along with Goenitz as a fourth member.

mmh...I personally don't like young fighters...somehow not serious enough.
I alway's ask myself "how's that possible" when some oldschool veteran like Ryo is beaten up by some young freak who thinks he's cool

But besides this your idea is quite interesting. Many strikers have a damn good charakter design and I'd love to see some of 'em in real battle.

Uh...but Shermie should get no comeback...I hated her *g*

Btw: No one will ever reach Kim's TaeKwonDo.

I myself have no problem with younger fighters. Character moods are like fighting styles; none are alike. A game full of serious characters gets old real quick in my book; SF2 prior to Super is a fine example. Personally, I'd like to see Cosplayer Kyoko enter as a fighter (Damnit, Shingo needs a rival!). Sho would be a nice addition as well though I see no need to tie his flame powers to the Kusanagis. I've seen plenty fighters use flames that have nothing to do with Kusanagis or Yagamis.

In recent years, the ranks have been changing in the KOF tournament, with plenty of new blood going around. I, for one, and glad to see this. 7 years ago, I had just started playing fighting games, and I got familiar with Terry, Iori, and Kyo running things.

Now, there's a new generation of arcade go-ers coming up, and I'd like to see some big changes in the roster in a few years. Here's a few of my suggestions for some changes (though it's not the most fleshed out idea):

Hero Team: K' (captain), Maxima, Whip, and a new character who'll succeed K' for the Hero role.

Japan Team: Shingo (captain), three new KOF fighters - 1 young, one older, one 20-something

New Southtown Team: Terry (co-captain), Rock Howard (co-captain), Bonne Jenet, Alfred

Old Southtown Team: Andy Bogard (captain), Joe Higashi, Mai Shiranui, Blue Mary

Art of Fighting Team: Ryo (Captain), Gato, maybe King and Robert(?)

Kim Team: Kim (captain), Jhun Moon, Kim Dong Hwan, Kim Jae Hoon

Women's Team: Yuri (captain), Kasumi Todoh, That sumo girl from 2000, A new girl

Ikari Warriors: Ralf (captain), Clark, Leona, Kevin Nash (from Garou - the military looking guy)

Badguy/Boss team: Hienlien (captain), Kula Diamond, the other two boss girls from KOF 2000

And Iori and Kyo as hidden, single entrants.
