If KOF 2002 want to satisfy everyone who likes KOF how about they have different fighting modes and alternate characters.
For example:
Select Fighting Mode:
KOF 94/95
KOF 96/97
KOF 98
KOF 99
KOF 2000
KOF 2001
What I mean by this is that when you select Kof 94/95 mode for example you only get 3 characters no strikers and you play like this game, you won't get strikers unless you pick 99 and 2000. You can get advanced and extra mode play by choosing KOF 98 mode.
This seems to go into a sort of groove selection mode such as Capcom vs. SNK 2.
In a sort of EX charcters way, you ca get alternate version of characters such as when you select Kyo, they allow you to do this:
Select Technique:
KOF 94
KOF 95
KOF 96
KOF 97
KOF 98
KOF 99
KOF 2000
KOF 2001
This means for example when you pick KOF 97 Kyo you get all the moves he had in KOF 97.
But he keeps his new outfit.
This could really be called KOF collection since you can use any KOF mode you want.
With this you can really compare what game had the best fighting system.
