Could someone give me tips on beating Zero? the only way i've found out how is to be lucky with jump kicks and to use the Cheesori tactic (nonstop negative moon grab). I can't get any combos to connect on him, so don't tell me i don't know how to do combos, i just can't get thru his defense. Any help would really really be appreciated. Note that this is on MVS difficulty.

Try using your A and B buttons more often. Faster moves tend to get through the "defence" more often than the slower C and D buttons. Also try using cheap strikers like Joe, or better yet...another Iori. Hope this helps!

ya the faster punch and kick moves get in a lot more. And the striker you pick usually effects the difficulty greatly like BryLmoo said. Practice makes perfect right.

zero is a cinch, here is a tip, when zero does his airlift feather attack move through and counter on the other side i recommend using iori or K' because the have great combos and counters as well as connections to other moves as for zero he constantly will do a special because he gets his level up VERY easily so you best bet is to only use a stiker when your in not from a distance or he will counter with his "ORB"
SPECIAL also when he scream "bachame" move through and start ioris combo or K's its also good to use a striker in the middle of a combo best striker for zero has got to be robert because he gets hits and lets you set up for another attack, keep up a chain of going through and countering because in kof 2k countering and timing are the key i myself beat zero on expert with only iori my first character so kick his ass and he should fall like and episode of freinds

Try just hyper jumping over him from mid range. That'll often make him do his anti air move, so you can run up to him and punish him as he recovers :evil:/

The best way to defeat Zero is to look for openings in his defense. If Zero does his
cape flip move (for example), just block it and counter with the strongest move in
your character's arsenal.

These are some of the things that work for me when fighting Zero:

Select K and Lin as your first two characters (your third choice should be used as your 'back up'). Choose
Geese Howard as your Striker (you must select Terry Bogard as your Striker to obtain
Geese).

K vs Zero: K can easily throw Zero. You might want to get in close (while blocking
his attacks) to throw him. When Zero does his trademark cape flip move, block and then
perform K's flaming uppercut. Teleport behind Zero (as he falls to the ground) and
perform another throw as he gets up. Charge Zero .... right as you reach Zero,
perform another throw and summon your striker, Geese. As you throw Zero, Geese
will hit him (timing is everything here. If you don't time it correctly, Geese will just stand there and say, "Come on!").

Repeat these steps to defeat Zero. Of course, Zero's DM is difficult to block. (Make
sure you're in close when he unleashes his DM.). Right before Zero's DM cancels,
summon Geese to throw him. If you time everything correctly, you can perform K's
weaker DM on Zero before he hits the ground.

Lin vs Zero: Lin can easily defeat Zero. Lin's weaker DM (where he disappears ,
reappears behind his opponent, and slashes them) can easily bypass most of Zero's
moves, -- everything except for his DM. I recommend using Lin's aforementioned
(albeit weaker) DM when Zero is blocking -- it usually inflicts damage 9 out of 10
times.

I guess I'm a cheap bastard. I just get in close enough with Ralph or Clark and do the half-circle with kick grab. Goes through almost anything. then Once in a while I'll jump in with a fierce Kick, jab, into the grab. Great Combo takes off about 1/3 of the life.....

Just crank it up to level 8 and do what Rasa said, he's much more 'cape happy' then. Average level is just TOO easy, he dun do owt but let you hit him, sure he blocks a lot, so hit him some more!

Try this one, on any dificulty. Stay close, jump straight up, and he'll do his cape attack. You block it because you can air block when jumping straight up and back. Then you land first, and then punish with any combo you want.

As long as you jump back or straight up.

You don't believe me? Air blocking has been there since 97.

Maybe 96

Keep rolling backwards into the corner then when he gets real close do a special grab or jump straight up and kick and repeat.

If Zero's out of the corner superjump over his head then he'll do anti air cape...then combo (blow your counter mode beforehand to get some combo practice in).

Or short hop in then throw him then repeat.

Short jumpkick with CD then wear his energy down with a special move then while you combo call your striker and keep attacking.

If your nearlly dead and want to die like a man just call your striker from long range from Zero.He should do his Super all the time u try!Cheap Psyhic bastard.

When Zero does his Balls-Flying-Everywhere DM, block it. Then on one of the later blocked hits, I cant remember which one, AB-cancel roll forward. You'll roll up to Zero as the DM ends, and you can combo him.

EDIT: It just occurred to me, "Balls-Flying-Everywhere" sounds rather obscene.

The easiest most LAMEST way to beat Zero:

Empty jump, throw

Yes, you got that right, it has a 90% success ratio. Just empty jump and do a normal throw. Command throws work even better! Especially with Ralf and Clark!

Ok Whip's Disciple, I've been playing '99 in practice mode and set the dummy up to do attacks while jumping. I jump back and I still get hit by attacks.

Are you sure there's air blocking in '99 and 2000? I know air blocking was in 98 but I never ever seen anyone air block anything in '99 or 2000 before...

I have seen it, and it happens all the time when I play my friends. I'm not going to shit you, just ask someone else too.

Best example: Jump up and down in the corner, and King will do Tornado kick D. You will block all the hit, and hit her after you land.
TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS!

Bloody hell...I've tried like a zillion times (well, not really but close enough) and I STILL don't see any air-blocking in 99 and 2000.

You drunk again, Whip's Disciple?

Hey to beat Zero simply run or jump towards him but stay a little far in the jump if he uppercuts you he will not connect as you are a little far and already on the ground with a fast jump, now you can combo him as you would

Same for the running staunce stop before he Uppercuts and do not block his fireball which comes from the ground its un blockable
Jump when he performs the fireball and combo him as its recovery is very bad
