K'999 is Tetsuo from Akira. It looks like him, and even his SUPER with the muted-arm is from Akira. And I'm not even into Anime that much.

You're right. Also, the character in KOF 2001 is actually voiced by the same actor from the Japanese movie. It's not a coincidence.

Madman's Cafe (before it shut down, "temporarily") posted some links to another anime character that May Lee apparently based on. I don't remember what, though.

You missed out, I did a little history class on K9999 a while back. I'd give you a link to the thread but its gone now.
