Nah, even Maxima's more useful striker-wise than her.
It's pretty hard to be skilled with Hinako. You have to put up with short-range attacks and weird normal attacks. Though she does have some combos (with striker juggles involved) that do a ton of damage, they're hard to land since no one in their right minds would just let her get close to them.

Hinako. She's a spoiled little schoolgirl brat who wants to be a sumo wrestler (think long and hard about that last sentence while trying to keep a straight face). Furthermore, she's a terrible fighter, a pitiful striker, and a lousy character concept (only Li Xiangfei comes close to her in terms of sheer lameness). And just for the record, Karin (of Street Fighter Alpha 3) could mop the floor with her (and on the off chance that Hinako beats her [yeah right!], she could always fire a laser beam from one of her spy satilites at her).
I think she's a lousy character, myself. She's not terribly fun to play, and her moves aren't all that interesting. They all look really silly, too.
Hinako is a lot like Kasumi, Xiangfei, and Bao: scrawny little kids who could never possibly lift Chang, let alone hope to beat someone like him in a fight (check Bao's fall-over throw and Hinako's over-shoulder throw on Chang).

Yeah... Hinako sucks. I can't stand anything about her!! Her concept, her fighting style/ability... If she were in Card Clash, her cards life points would be 100... <IMG SRC="smilies/ohno.gif" border="0">
Xiangfei, on the other hand is cool. Concept wise, she's comedy relief with fighting ability. And her fighting skills are well above average. Maybe in KOF 2002, her, Shingo, Alfred, and Moe Habana form a team, with Moe as the leader...

Unusual...
Hinako is one of the most succeful characters in this city and in my book; in fact; she is abusive. She has many resorts to deal her damage and to bet the enemy where she wants; it just needs practice; because she deals a hole new concept on game play.
With a Lin; Maxima; Hinako and Another K' Striker I have made many scrubs leave their credits before the fight ends; because they now they can not turn the round.
And I am not that good; these characters are Cheap ass bastards.

Between her and Ramon, I've gotten better with Hinako; while I'm still trying to learn the fundamentals with Ramon. Hinako seems like a short range version of Shermie to me. Like somebody said ealier, she's one of them characters you need much practice with to be good with (A welcome over all the scrub favorites that are out there now.)
