First of all, I'd like to thank you for the interesting reply.Your opinion I respect, your integrity I will question. I will ask you a few questions to see how true to your word you are? Because many of us do not have any respect for liars.
First. You have stated that you don't like turtlers. Correct. you have stated this in your post. These are your words.
Second. Winning is everything. IS it not true that you have also said this. Once again these are your words.
Now the first question. Would you resort to turtling if it meant that you win the game. If you said no. Then winning is not everything. If you said yes, Then you've become the very thing you hate.
You have classified a turtler in your opinion as someone who stays back and counters. Now. Am I turtler because I keep the opponent in the corner, and constantly attack him with a series of moves that have next to no, lag time. But I am a turtler when it comes to scoring the hits that count. The first hit, the last hit, and any hit that gives me an advantage. In addition to this point, I am a turtler who stands right next to an opponent, to an extent, where I can still hit him, but he can't hit me. Or if I trade hits, he gets hit first, or harder.
Leviathan, has said that he plans to show some games we have taped, to be on his site.
Why does winning have to be a derivative for fun? Doesn't learning the true extremes of a characters qualities entice you at all? What fun is the game, if you are a scholar of the game, and not an artist?
A scholar of the game, plays in a such a way, that the gameplay, that is displayed, is like some academic way of playing, where it was taught by someone. the game gets very boring. These kind of players appear to have been taught by a book, or something rather by experience.
The artist, plays in a manner that resembles, a truly unique style. For every artist you will be able to see more defintion in the game, as those players often, stretch each character to it's limits. Usually after a number of times of failure.
I try to be a little bit of both, again in the grey area. So that in more intense games, I can stretch my character to it's limit, without sacrificing the book knowledge side of playing. Greatly reducing the chances of losing, and maintaining a level of fun for myself as well the people who are watching.
