The KOF 2001 was projected for release on 11.5.01! Despite the not entirely legal ways that our arcade gets it's games, I still have not played it! Did I miss something in the news area? Is this some kind of cruel joke? Oh, why God? (Turn on the English Shakespearean accent) Why am I tortured so? What vile sin hath I've committed that I am denied? Nay, nothing could have been said. Nothing could have been done to accost such a tragedy... Death receive thee, for hath I no peace in life, then so shall be in death...

Ok, I rambled on but the point still stands. If SHIN-HIDOSHI could possibly answer these questions... unless there is a different, unforeseen factor to all this...

I guess I'm just frustrated...

I said earlier that KOF 2001 was set for release between the 15th and the 30th of November. What I didn't mention is that this applies only to the release date in Japan. Other parts of the world (especially the United States) probably won't be seeing it for another couple of months (at least). So until then, be patient. And if you can't wait, go someplace and download the KOF 2001 rom (let's see how many people believe that last statement).

That would be surprising considering it's only been a couple of days since I've had a working copy of 2000. But, ok. I'll try to be patient. BTW, I'm not exactly waiting for an English version. Our arcade is gung ho enough to get the damn thing in Korean if that's what it'll take to get more money.

Leona runs an arcade (I think in Mexico), and he says that he's getting KoF 2001, so when it's out, I'm sure he'll have it.

I get the idea that in Mexico, the arcade business can still be super lucrative as long as the game is new. Leona mentioned that KoF 2K paid for itself twice over within 2 weeks. I can't imagine that happening in the US.

Geez. I wish the arcades that I live(d) nearby (Fun Company in Fairfax, Virginia, and Boomers in Boca Raton, Florida) had that kind of mentality toward getting games.

Anyways, it looks like I've been proven wrong; a couple arcades in Singapore got KOF 2001 a few days before the official 11/15 release date (which, oddly enough, is the same day when the X-Box comes out).

well the arcades are in france and it was K.O.F. '99 not 2k but everything else that wasabi said is true.
when '99 came out it cost me $780 it made the double in 2 weeks if i remember well, '98 also did well and MS3 is going well to, but sadly not good as in past years say 98 or 99 when not that people that had pc where into emus or stuff like that,

now there are arcades that instead of MVS have a pc pcu with all SNK games on it so you just insert your coin select ANY game press start and you play it, sadly that's gaining a lot of people that want to play casual games, that arcade owners just couldn't afford to put into a single arcade cause prob a few would play it.

but still if you want to make any money you need to get the newest games so you can make money of them before emus have it or people lost interest on it, sadly i think the arcade is dying since that it seems hardcore fans have gone elsewhere
