Just because you're good at something, you need to steal it? Nice logic. I'm gonna go to Circuit City, design me a nice little setup, and walk right out of the door with it. I deserve it. Thank you for that flash of reason, you illiterate hyena.

Not quite...

At the end of the day, if someones playing an emulator then they never have/never will intend on buying the original. Those who say "emulator freaks killed SNK" are wrong...they have failed simply because the gaming market has advanced where as SNK came to a stand still...how long did you seriously think a 16-bit console could keep going for?

Think about what you just said. SNK was a business that sold video game software and hardware. Emulators give that away for free. How did emulators not play a part in killing SNK?

It stayed alive for a good ten or more years(until SNK kicked the bucket). It was still on par with with the newer systems. Dreamcast had loading times with KOF Evo(and that wasn't even a complete port). 16 bit system? Yeah. Stand still? In your dreams.

Exactly, 10 years....average life of a console is 5 years give or take so its had one hell of a run.

Think about what you just said. SNK was a business that sold video game software and hardware. Emulators give that away for free. How did emulators not play a part in killing SNK?

All those people who are playing kof2k on an emulator now never even contemplated buying it brand new. So tell me, how does this affect SNK sales? Its like saying because theres football on tv, sales of tickets at games will drop....not quite....dedicated fans will always pay for what they want.

It was still on par with with the newer systems. Dreamcast had loading times with KOF Evo(and that wasn't even a complete port). 16 bit system? Yeah. Stand still? In your dreams.

Heh, with 2-d graphics yes...and thats due to the wapping ammount of RAM it has..but the system has been outdated for sometime now. Oh...and CD machines will ALWAYS have loading times regardless of what game its running. DC was a bad example...the Saturn pulled SNK conversions with ease (well, with a ram cart

Well it is true roms contributed to putting SNK out of business though you have to consider they would have made much more money if they had made their products affordable for more people.

ah geez.......lets not have this turn into another "emus destroyed SNk, games are too expensive" crapathon! We get the point! Its not our(romers)fault SNk shutdown, its their marketing! I mean, a game that cost as much as a system?! and hardly no USA support?! Too much! so what is we use roms! Thats what WE want to do! get over it!

I'm not gonna say SNK's marketing was right, but it was far from wrong. The AES home system was almost exactly like the MVS arcade hardware. Essentially you were buying exact ports. Look at it this way, would you sell a Tekken Tag Tournament machine for $50 if you were Namco? Expensive for a reason.
so what is we use roms! Thats what WE want to do! get over it!
Yes, and that makes you all righteous, right? Steal everything you can't afford!

In a few years time people will be grateful of emulators.

Systems such as Capcoms CPS2 boards and the infamous 'suicide battery' will mean boards will start dying slowly, but surely. Meaning that x-men vs SF board u have sitting in the corner of your room will be scrap Not that SNK has this problem of course, im just stating why emulators are not all bad.

And with people addmitedly collecting more than one copy of a rare game it will only make games like metal slug even harder to find. It beats the hell out of me why ppl would even bother doing this.
