King of Fighters 2000

You know what I hate? Little nit pickers that tell you every little thing that is wrong with a certain game, and in the end, make it look so bad that people like you and me would not want it. I've seen this happen a number of times with one of my favorite neo-geo games, KoF2000. Everone knows that this isn't the best KoF, and yet everyone has either not played it, or just doesn't like the strikers. True, the animation isn't up to par with previous KoF's, but that doesn't make it a bad game, at all. KoF2000 is, just like NeoGML says, one of the most technical 2D fighters out there. If you want to dispute this argument, then go right ahead, I believe that some of the coolest shit can be done. Just look at the insane stuff that K' can do...who ever thought SNK would ever come up with such a badass character? Talk about baddass shit, look at some of the crazy "circus" shit you can do with the striker system...we arn't talking MvC2 here...this kind of helper system takes SKILL to use, and you can't just walk in and expect to do super damage...

Another thing that gets on my nerves is how people pick at KoF2000 becuase it doesn't have the best story, and while this is true, how many people do you know personally that actually go out and buy a fighter for the storyline? If you asked me that question, I would reply with a swift, "not many". KoF is all about fast and furious fighting, and what else is SNK known for most?

Alright, so now that I've told you how I feel about KoF2000, I will put my favorite KoFs in order from Greatest to least favorite: 1(greatest) 7(least)

1. KoF96
2. KoF2K
3. KoF98
4. KoF99
5. KoF97
6. KoF95
7. KoF94

KoF2000 isn't the best KoF in every ones book, but if you look at the hell that SNK has been through over the past couple of years, you will begin to understand why certain shit might have been taken out of this game. I don't know who people are trying to fool with all of this "KoF200 sucks" crap but all I can say is...this game rocks...

I don't support you during these rants, becuase I don't feel the need. ITS A FUCKING VIDEO GAME! People will always have there own views on them. It sometimes makes you wonder if some of these people really have neo-geo's or not...they seem to always be talking about the games, and not really playing them.

I know NeoGML has a neo with KoF2000. He has helped me with the combo system on multiple occasions and I would recommend him for advice on anything KoF related.

Oh yeah one more thing, The only reason I put KoF99 above KoF97 is because I play KoF99 more then KoF97 now. =) I sometimes play KoF96 even more than both of them...=P

No problem. Cost has nothing to do with the way that I think of games on the neo-geo. I just have expensive tastes that can only be quinched with the beauty of a neo-geo homecart. I know I have paid well over a thousand dollars on my neo games, and I'm not scared to admit it in public either. I'm just not the kind of person who quibbles about every possible defect in the gameplay and the graphics... =)

On occasion, I still refer to my games as "FUCKING VIDEO GAMES." If you have a problem with that, don't talk to me. =P

Hi .I actually own this game and got it just two weeks ago after I was told how great it was
Now in my opinion and only my opinion it is not as great as I was told it was,far from it

Now I know some people love this game and I also know people who hate the game but as been said its just a matter of taste.

The more I play it the more I like it a little more but it will never be one of my favorites,

I like kof 99 alot and not many other people do but its just personal taste and I think its been made very proffesionally.

I also put kof 98 and 94 above of 2000

I wish zero was a bit harder to beat and I wish kula appeared each time but she does not on the mvs version

Maybe if I owned the aes where she does appear all the time I would like the game a little more

But I honestly think they could have done a lot more with the backgrounds instead of all these new strikers

Overall though i like it better than kof 95 and 96 and 97 so it cant be that bad <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">as I said though before I get insulted for my opinion... everyone has there own taste!!

KoF 97 plain owns in all respect's.'

If I've said it once, I'll say it again: I enjoy every single version of the King of Fighters series, all for various reasons. King of Fighters 2000 is no different. Even though I've only played it four times, I had a blast every time. Call me crazy, but I think that the feeling of being able to play a game that's so hard to find is something that can't be beat (especially when it can't be found anywhere in Southern Florida).

Lee Gray, Kula doens't appear "every time" in the AES version. in both versions, you just need to get a BA of 250+ before stage 4 for her to appear.

i think you should play the game a little more than 2 weeks to make a judgment on it.

That is TRUE ,I do enjoy the game a bit more each time I play it,
I only said she appeared each time on the aes as one of the mods here,I think it was either bio-motor or dolphinlord told me she appears each time,maybe they must get 250 + each time?

I once got her just before I fought zero

I must admit it is so much easier to get that score using either terry or Kim.
I usually play the game on level 4 but once I played it on level 1 starting of with kim and I won all the way through with him which I enjoyed <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">If I had done that on kof 98 I would have been whipped.

I dont understand though how mai's breasts bounce when she does her winning pose,but they are statinary at all other times,even though this is not the case in the european boards?it was bad enough SNK censoring home carts but not mvs too,

I love neo games ,mainly the older ones as thats what I was brought up on,its only recently I got some cash to start buying the newer games .I cant wait till I get kof2001,will wait till its down to 300 though

As for my kof2000 ,I have the full english mvs box kit,and as of this time,there are no scratches on the cart so I have put it away in the box,so hopefully in years to come it might get rare and make me some money

I have the us mvs version and the bounce only comes when she does her winning pose or when she interacts with Andy,has the blood though,I have been told that if you have a european mvs board the bounce is fully intacted,cant afford a home system anymore <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

play on level 8 and she will appear almost every time

KOF2k is a great game period. People are going to bitch regardless, if it played like 98 people would be complaining that there's no inovation.
